Learning Outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students will be able to

LO 1. Draft a professional resume by being aware of their skill sets both academic
and personal in nature.

LO 2.  Generate ideas and present forth their thoughts on various social, economic
, political etc topics in a lucid and confident manner by applying principles of clarity
in sentences and paragraphs by using appropriate structure, style and voice while
writing essays.

LO 3. Assess their personality and work towards overcoming their shortcomings.

LO 4. Tackle challenging situations in life with their abilities to arrive at practical


and logical solutions.

LO 5. Acquire, develop and challenge the ideas in a group using discussion as a


tool for arriving at a conclusion.

UNIT 1: RESUME DRAFTING 5 Hours

Every student to prepare his detailed resume including all the important aspects

a. Instructions and guidelines

b. Preparation of resume

c. Analysis, correction and final resume

UNIT 2: EFFECTIVE WRITING SKILLS II 7 Hours

Learning the concept of Essay writing.

a. Introduction to different types of essays

b. Students to be given different essays to read, comprehend and present.

c. Essay writing on various topics of importance

UNIT 3: THEMATIC APPERCEPTION TEST (TAT) 5 Hours

a. A series of slides (pictures) to be shown. Students are to write a story around


each picture.

b. Responses of students to be assessed for analyzing their personality trait.

c. Feedback to be provided.

UNIT 4: SITUATION REACTION TEST (SRT) 5 Hours

a. Introduction to SRT.

b. Tips to tackle

c. Sample SRTs to be provided and discussed.

d. Students should be encouraged to come up with practical and logical solutions.

UNIT 5: DYNAMICS OF GROUP DISCUSSION II 8 Hours

a. Dos and Don’ts: Procedure, Seating Arrangement, Initiation, Discussion and


Conclusion/Summary.
b. Types of Topics and guidelines to be successful in a GD.

NOTE:
1.Theoretical concepts of GD to be reinforced with Mock GDs in the class.
2.Topics should cover all the types: Factual, Abstract And Case Study based.
3.To be recorded and Appropriate feedback to be provided to the students.
