ELECTRICITY

ELECTRON, PROTON,
NEUTRON
Electrons are sub atomic particles that is negatively
charged. One electron has a charge of (-) 1.6x10-19
Coulomb

Proton are positively charge with magnitude of (+)

1.6x10-19 Coulomb per proton.

Neutrons have no charge at all

ELECTRO-STATIC
FORCE
Electrons get attracted to protons and will be
repelled by another electrons. Protons also attracted
to electrons and is repelled by another protons.
However, protons and electrons are always attracted
to electrically neutral object. Electrically neutral has
the same number of electrons and protons.

corner of a triangle as shown in the
figure, where q1=6x10-9C, q2=-2x10-9C
and q3=5x10-9C.
(a) Find the component of the force F32
exerted by q2 on q3.
(b)Find the components of the force F31
exerted by q1 on q3.
(c)Find the resultant force on q3, in

ELECTRIC FIELD
The charges on the two metal spheres and the ebonite rod create
an electric field E at the spot indicated. This field has a
magnitude of 2.0 N/C and is directed as in the drawing. Determine
the force on a charge placed at that spot, if the charge has a
value of (a) q0 = +18x10-8 C and (b) q0 = -24x10-8 C.
