= Promotion is a key element in putting across the benefits of your product or
service to the customers. Well designed marketing and promotional strategies
ensure long term success, bring in more customers and ensure profitability for
businesses.
2. What is the advantages and disadvantages of using advertising for a hotel ?
A restaurant? A destination ?
= Advantages:
- Wide coverage
- Control of message
- Repetition means that the message can be communicated effectively
- Can be used to build brand loyalty
Disadvantages:
- Often expensive
- Impersonal
- One way communication
- Lacks flexibility
- Limited ability to close a sale
3. What are the advantages and disadvantages of using direct marketing for a
hotel ? A restaurant? An airline ? A destination ?
= Advantages:
- Focus limited resources on targeted promotion
- Can personalize the marketing message
- Relatively easy to measure response and success
- Easy to test different marketing messages
- Cost-effective if the customers database is well managed
Disadvantages:
