Maharashtra

Mumbai

Mumbai also known as Bombay is the capital city of Maharashtra. It is a densely populated city
on India’s west coast. A financial center, it's India's largest city. On the Mumbai Harbour
waterfront stands the iconic Gateway of India stone arch, built by the British Raj in 1924.
Offshore, nearby Elephanta Island holds ancient cave temples dedicated to the Hindu god
Shiva. The city's also famous as the heart of the Bollywood film industry. The Mumbai Suburban
Railway, popularly referred to as Locals forms the backbone of the city's transport system.
Public buses run by best cover almost all parts of the metropolis, as well as parts of Navi
Mumbai, Mira-Bhayandar and Thane. The Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport
(formerly Sahar International Airport) is the main aviation hub in the city and the second busiest
airport in India in terms of passenger traffic.

Pune

Pune is the second largest city in the state of Maharashtra, after Mumbai. Pune is considered to
be the cultural capital of Maharashtra. It is also known as the "Oxford of the East" due to the
presence of several well-known educational institutions. It's known for the grand Aga Khan
Palace, built in 1892 and now a memorial to Mahatma Gandhi, whose ashes are preserved in
the garden. The 8th-century Pataleshwar Cave Temple is dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva.
Pune Suburban Railway connects Pune to the industrial city of Pimpri-Chinchwad and the hill
station of Lonavala. Pune Metro, a mass rapid transit system, is under construction and is
expected to be operational by 2021. Pune International Airport is an international Airport at
Lohegaon, operated by the Airports Authority of India. It shares its runways with the
neighbouring Indian Air Force base.

Karnataka

Bagalkote is a city situated in the northern part of the Indian state of Karnataka. It is situated
along the banks of the River Ghataprabha, it lies at an average elevation of 533 meters above
sea level. It is the head-quarters of bagalkote district. It was previously under the administration
of Vijayapur district and in the year 1997, the new bagalkote district has come into existence
during 50 th year of India’s independence. The bifurcated bagalakote district consists of six C.D.
blocks namely Badami, Bagalkote, Bilagi, Hunugund, Jamakhandi and Mudhol.

Ballari is the biggest and a major district in Karnataka. It is located in northern part of Karnataka.
This district has the highest deposits of iron ore in India. Historical sites, farm land and rich
minerals characterize Ballari district. It is also the home of the former capital of the famous
Vijayanagara Empire, Vijayanagara, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Recently making
headlines with mining industry, Ballari, the district's capital, is known as Steel City and Gani
Nadu (City of Mining).

Belgavi

Belagavi is a city in the southwest Indian state of Karnataka. It is also known as Belgaum.
Circled by a moat, the large Belgaum Fort contains centuries-old mosques and the Kamal Basti,
a Jain temple. Belgaum is connected by road via national highways 4 and 4A. The city is served
by Belgaum Airport at Sambra, which is the oldest airport in North Karnataka and lies 10
kilometres from the city on State Highway 20. Belgaum railway station is on the Indian Railways
grid, being part of the South Western railways, and is well connected by rail to major
destinations.

Bengaluru

Bengaluru (also called Bangalore) is the capital of India's southern Karnataka state. The center
of India's high-tech industry, the city is also known for its parks and nightlife. Former royal
residences include 19th-century Bangalore Palace, modeled after England’s Windsor Castle,
and Tipu Sultan’s Summer Palace, an 18th-century teak structure. Bangalore is served by
Kempegowda International Airport, located at Devanahalli, about 40 kilometres from the city
centre. Buses operated by Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation are an important and
reliable means of public transport available in the city. A rapid transit system called the Namma
Metro is powering bengaluru transport system.

Chikmagalur

Chikmagalur is a hill station in Karnataka, a state in southwest India. To the north is Baba
Budangiri, a mountain range in the Western Ghats, with 3 large caves said to be holy. Trails
through forests and grasslands lead up to Mullayanagiri Peak. The cascading Hebbe Falls lie in
an area of coffee plantations. The forested Bhadra Wildlife Sanctuary, northwest of
Chikmagalur, is home to elephants, tigers and leopards. Chikmagalur district has a small airport
near Gowdanahalli village about 10 kilometres from Chikmagalur town. Chikmagalur, Kadur and
Tarikere taluks have railway lines passing through them. The total length of railway line passing
through the district is 136 Kadur is the main big Junction of Chikmagalur District.

Chitradurga
Chitradurga is a city and the headquarters of Chitradurga district which is located on the valley
of the Vedavati river in the central part of the Indian state of Karnataka. Chitradurga gets its
name from Chitrakaldurga, an umbrella-shaped lofty hill found here. Chitradurga was also
known by the names Chitradurg, Chitrakaladurga, Chittaldurg. Chittaldrug was the official name
used during the British rule. Also known as Farkhabad during Tippu sultan rule. It is located
about 200 km from the state capital Bengaluru.

Gadag-betageri

Gadag-Betageri is a city municipal council in Gadag district in the state of Karnataka, India. It is
the administrative headquarters of Gadag District. The original city of Gadag and its sister city
Betageri have a combined city administration. The municipality of Gadag-Betageri has a
population of 172,813 and an area of 54.0956 km². Kanaginahal of Gadag is the birthplace of
the first co-operative society in Asia. The temples of Veera Narayana and Trikuteshwara are
places of religious and historic importance.

Bhadravati

Bhadravati or Bhadravathi is an industrial city and taluk in the Shivamogga District of Karnataka
state, India. It is situated at a distance of about 255 kilometres from the state capital Bengaluru
and at about 20 kilometres from the district headquarters, Shivamogga. One national highways
passes through the city; Two state highways pass through the city as well. Buses that go from
Bangalore to Shivamogga stop at Bhadravati and take around six hours to complete the
journey. The Shivamogga–Bangalore train, the Birur–Shivamogga train, and the Mysuru–
Shivamogga train all go through Bhadravati. It is well connected by rail to the Bengaluru city.
The nearest airport is in Hubli, around 170 kilometres from Bhadravati.

Bidar

Bidar is a hill top city in the north-eastern part of Karnataka state in India. It is the headquarters
of the Bidar district which borders Maharashtra and Telangana. It is a rapidly urbanising city in
the wider Bidar Metropolitan area. The city is well known for its many sites of architectural,
historical and religious importance. Bidar city is known for its Bidri handicraft products, and its
rich history. Bidar is also considered one of the holiest place for Sikh pilgrimage. The city is
home to an air force station. Trujet operates one daily flight between Bidar to Bangalore from 07
Feb 2020.
Gangavathi

Gangavathi is a town, municipality and taluk in the Koppal district of the Indian state of
Karnataka. It is one of the main commercial hubs in the entire Kalyana Karnataka region, it is
also the largest city in terms of area and population when compared to any towns within Koppal
district. It is called as Rice Bowl city of Karnataka. The nearest railway station to Gangavathi is
Hospet Jn which is located in and around 22.6 kilometer distance. The following table shows

Hassan

Hassan District is one of the 30 districts of Karnataka state located in the south-western part of
Karnataka in India. The district has had an eventful and rich history. In the past, it reached the
height of its glory during the rule of the Hoysalas who had their capital at Dwarasamudra, the
modern Halebeed in Belur Taluk.There is no operational airport in the city. The nearest airport is
Mysore airport and the nearest international airport is Kempegowda International Airport. The
Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation operates connecting Hassan with other parts of
Karnataka as well as other states. Hassan comes under the South Western Railway zone of the
Indian Railways.

Hosapete

Hospet is a small city situated in Bellary District, in the state of Karnataka. This city is a popular
tourist attraction mainly because of its location. Hospet is located at a distance of about 12 km
from Hampi, a world heritage site. This city is known to be the gateway to Hampi. The city does
not have many notable attractions to visit, apart from Hampi and Tungabhadra Dam. These two
are known to be main Hospet attractions.Hospet railway station connects the city with other
major cities by railways. Apart from these two options, the city is well connected by roadways as
well. A number of buses connect this city with other nearby cities.

Hubballi-dharwad

Hubballi and Dharwad are twin cities in the Indian state of Karnataka. Hubballi-Dharwad form
the second-largest urban agglomeration in Karnataka, in terms of area and population, after
capital Bengaluru. While Dharwad is the administrative headquarters, the city of Hubballi,
situated about 20 km south-east of Dharwad, is the commercial centre and business hub of
North Karnataka. The cities have a single municipal corporation called Hubli-Dharwad Municipal
Corporation. Hubballi Airport is a domestic airport serving the twin cities of Hubballi and
Dharwad in the state of Karnataka, India. It is situated on Gokul Road, 8 kilometres from
Hubballi and 20 kilometres from Dharwad. Hubballi Airport is 3rd busiest airport in Karnataka
and 45th busiest airport in India, connected with 10 domestic destinations.

Kalaburagi

Gulbarga, also and officially known as Kalaburagi, is a city in the Indian state of Karnataka. It is
the administrative headquarters of Gulbarga district and is the largest city in the Hyderabad-
Karnataka region of North Karnataka. Gulbarga is 623 km north of the state capital city of
Bangalore and 220 km from Hyderabad. Previously it was part of Hyderabad State and
incorporated into a newly formed Mysore State through the States Reorganisation Act in 1956.
Kalaburagi Airport is a public airport located 12 km east of Kalaburagi in Karnataka, India. The
airport was built by the Karnataka State Public Works Department with technical assistance
from RITES Limited and is operated by the Airports Authority of India.

Kolar

Kolar district is a district in the state of Karnataka, India. Kolar is the district headquarters.
Located in southern Karnataka, it is the state's easternmost district. The district is surrounded
by the Bangalore Rural district on the west, Chikballapur district on the north, the Chittoor
district of Andhra Pradesh on the east and the Krishnagiri district of Tamil Nadu on the south.
Due to the discovery of the Kolar Gold Fields, the district has become known as the "Golden
Land" of India.

Madikeri

Madikeri is a hill town in southern India. Framed by the Western Ghats mountain range, it’s known
for the Raja’s Seat, a simple monument overlooking forests and rice paddies. Madikeri does not
have an airport. The nearest airports are Mangalore (136 km away) and Calicut (180 km). Mysore
airport would be the alternative nearest airport to Madikeri. Nearest railheads are Hassan,
Kasaragod, Cannanore and Tellicherry. Mysore and Mangalore have railway stations with very good
rail connectivity and are good alternatives to reach Madikeri.

Mandya
Mandya District is an administrative district of Karnataka, India. It is bounded on the North by
Hassan and Tumkur Districts on the East, by Tumkur and Bangalore Districts on the South by
Mysore and on the West by the districts of Hassan and Mysore. The district headquarters is
Mandya city, located at Bangalore-Mysore Highway. All trains between Bangalore and Mysore
pass through mandya. The nearest airport is Bangalore city, which is around two hours drive by
road.

Mangaluru
Mangalore, officially known as Mangaluru, is the chief port city of the Indian state of Karnataka.
Mangalore is an Arabian Sea port and a major commercial center in the Indian state of
Karnataka. It is also the administrative headquarters of the Dakshina Kannada district and
included in the Smart Cities Mission list. Mangalore is the state's only city to have all four modes
of transport—air, road, rail and sea. Mangalore city bus routes are dominated by private buses.
Mangalore Junction is a gateway to the port city of Mangaluru located at Darbar Hill, Padil,
Mangaluru.

Mysuru
Mysore officially known as Mysuru District is an administrative district located in the southern
part of the state of Karnataka, was the capital of the Kingdom of Mysore. Mysore railway station
has three lines, connecting it to Bengaluru, Mangalore, and Chamarajanagar. Railway lines that
connect the city to Chamarajanagara and Mangalore are unelectrified single track and the track
that connects to Bengaluru is electrified double track. Mysore Airport, also known as the
Mandakalli airport,It is located near the village of Mandakalli and the nearest International
airport is Kannur International Airport in Kannur which lies about 168 km (104 mi) away from
Mysuru city. Mysore is connected by National Highway to the state border town of Gundlupet,
where the road forks into the states of Kerala and Tamil Nadu. State Highway 17 which
connects Mysore to Bangalore.

Raichur
Raichur is a city municipality in the district of Raichur in the Indian state of Karnataka. Raichur,
located between Krishna and Tungabhadra rivers, is the headquarters of Raichur district. It is
located 409 km from the state capital, Bangalore. The city is famous for its imposing Raichur
Fort. Nearest airport is Hyderabad airport that is about 183 km from Raichur. Raichur railway
station is located in Raichur and serves Raichur and the surrounding industrially efflorescent
area.

Ranebennuru
Ranebennuru is the city Municipal Council and is a town in Haveri district in Karnataka,India. It
is situated 300 kilometres northwest of Bengaluru, the capital of Karnataka. Other nearby cities
include Hubballi and Bengaluru. The bulk of the population is engaged in agriculture and related
activities. Ranebennur is home to a rich commodity market. The nearest airport is at Hubballi,
108 km from Ranebennur. The nearest international airport is 300 km away, in Bengaluru.

Tumakuru
Tumakuru District is an administrative district in the state of Karnataka in India. It was formerly a
part of the old Mysuru State. Tumakuru District is the second largest district in the state of
Karnataka after Belagavi.The nearest airport to Tumkur is Kempegowda International Airport in
Bangalore which is around 90 km from the city. Around 131 trains pass through Tumkur Railway

Udupi
Udupi, otherwise spelt Udipi and also known as Odipu, is a city in the Indian state of Karnataka.
It is the administrative headquarters of Udupi District. It is one of the fastest growing cities in
Karnataka and has various educational institutions. Udupi is one of the top tourist attractions in
Karnataka. It is notable for the Krishna Temple. It lends its name to the popular Udupi cuisine.
National Highway passes through Udupi. Other significant roads include the State Highways to
Karkala and Dharmastala and to Sringeri. Private/Government buses connect Udupi to parts of
Karnataka. Udupi has a railway station on the Konkan Railway. Nearest International Airport to
Udupi is Mangalore International Airport, which is 58.5 km away.

Vijayapura
Vijayapura, officially known as Bijapur, is the district headquarters of Bijapur District of
Karnataka state of India. It is also the headquarters for Bijapur Taluka. Bijapur city is well known
for its historical monuments of architectural importance built during the rule of the Adil Shahi
