Questions:
1. How do you find the activity?
UNDERSTANDING CULTURE, SOCIETY & POLITICS
Module 1
I find it quite fascinating and enlightening since, first of all, I wasn't fully aware of
the meaning of anthropology, and second, after knowing the definition, I didn't
know that sociology is similar to the word but more specific. It states that
anthropology studies humans, while sociology is specifically human social
relationships and institutions. The impressive part is that some people are
knowledgeable about this topic, and the thought of being taken advantage of or
privacy invasion is inevitable.

2. What are the nature of anthropology, sociology and political science?

Generally, all are related to humans and their interactions but differ in their
location on the picture. While sociology is the bigger picture, it consists of
anthropology and political science on the sections of the photo. Regarding the
nature of these three words, they opt to understand human behavior, human
societies around the world, and the process of how people mold by factors
present in society. In other words, the essence of these studies must acquire
knowledge of the persons in the community in terms of their behavior to attain
beneficial information for political, biological, or social aspects in society.

3. How do you relate this nature to your daily life?

An applicable scenario wherein the nature of anthropology, sociology, and
political science utilized is talking to different people. To attain an equal level of
understanding and or an intriguing conversation, one must first observe the
pattern of speaking, the topic at hand, and the possible relevant context among
people. In turn, after much assessment, we could move on towards delivering the
idea by uttering the thought. The nature of the two-ologies and one science was
present in the scenario because the assessment element of the example among
human beings accomplishes the goals. And also similar compared to those
words in terms of methods and reasoning, which was behavioral evaluation.

Questions:
1. How do you find the activity?
It serves as a convenient way to know the most significant details of the lesson.
And in the process of narrowing down the info, we could see a similar
composition of words in a sentence with minor differences or differences in
details that have been layout.
2. What are the important details you find out about the topic?
The important detail that I can find in the lesson, in my opinion, is that "The
nature of culture refers to a theoretical foundation of contemporary
anthropology." It tries to explain nature with regards to anthropology, and that we
could understand the root of modern behavior of people with hypothetical
assumptions with basis and research.
3. Do you find it helpful to know about the details of the topic?
It helps to understand more of the topic at hand. With more details, the easier the
comprehension. If one leaves a definition that characterizes as "too minimalistic"
of an idea, it will lead to misunderstandings from the feeling of an incomplete
explanation is possible. In the case of the lesson, providing more details is
beneficial since some descriptions contain intricate words with no context clues
or the following sentences; and it did provide more crucial information on the
topic.

Activity 3. Jumbled Letters

Directions: There are five words that you can find below; however, the letters are
jumbled. A short description is provided to help you identify the words. Kindly write the
correct word/phrase on the blanks provided. Write your answer in your notebook.

I learned what is the exact term for studying the behavior of humans in society,
reactions towards the environment or in community, and politics; they are
anthropology, sociology, and political science, respectively. And the nature of
the word, culture, in the lesson, is related to anthropology, wherein it serves as
the assumed basis of modern society. Also, sociology is a broader topic than
anthropology and political science, as they are known as subtopics. The
difference between sociology and Anthropology is that the latter focuses more on
the individual aspect while sociology tackles a more group focus as their area of
research. Political science is dealing with multiple people's actions or basically,
about politics and governing others.
I realized that this is an economic tactic of companies that allows them to sell
their product in the market successfully. With research and observation on
reactions from the survey and trials, they'd offer to them to gain feedback
towards the output they are about to introduce publicly. It would give them ample
time to modify it since it was still showed only in a closed group. Not only do
companies benefit from sociology and anthropology, but also in the field of
medicine, and one latest example of this is the research on the cure of the Corona
Virus. The scientists try to discover the essence of the virus in a closed group of
volunteer that is more likely eager to attain the medicine and also must have
given their consent. If done successfully, multiple people are healed and not just
a single person. In terms of political science, it is optimal and beneficial for
candidates who want to participate in the elections to utilize the last one of the
three, which is political science. It doesn't restrict from the elections aspect but
also the governing part after a successful election. Candidates must portray the
ideal type of leader of his or her covered area of governing to gain appeal from
the people in that area. It takes research also to plan out strategies on this
righteous, model-type of behavior.
If given a chance to participate and utilize these -ologies: sociology and
anthropology - and political science, I would gladly undertake these interesting
statistical and analytical procedures. As a future doctor, I expect to involve
myself in the testing of humans to advance the development of medicine in the
market. However, I do not wish for the pandemic to still occur at my age of work
since it implies that previous studies are not successful and that the cure is a
difficult task to determine. It could mean a challenge but for the cost of economic
drop and struggle of people in society. Political science is a different topic
though, and although politics is an intriguing path to undergo, I can't see myself
in pursuing to become a full-time, relied on the leader and the task under its belt.
It would be nice to experience it in a week to get a glimpse of their daily work, but
I'd preferably take a route being a news journalist that undergoes the same type
of actions, research.

Activity 4. Where I can use it

Direction: Give a certain situation happening in your barangay where you can apply
any of the given perspectives. Explain it with clear descriptions in your notebook.

From the social perspective, it consists of the functionalist perspective wherein it states that the
society is like the body of a person; each organ, each section has its part in the functionality of
the whole. In a daily scenario in autumn, the people with organizational work would go to their
respective business building while the street sweepers would clean up the streets where the
cars pass by. The piled-up leaves and trash will be segregated by the sweepers and carried off by
trash collectors. The leaves will be delivered to the community center or barangay
decomposition area to be used to make fertilizer while the trash will be dumped to its
respective space. The fertilizer will be used to plant more trees in the community and be
nurtured until it grows into a big-scale tree.
