SAQ1: How have these art forms changed in the Contemporary Era?
- These art forms altered the game for everyone. Through the employment of remarkable art forms
in which their abilities actually flourish, everyone can communicate their thoughts, ideas, and
current societal challenges. Current societal issues can also be reflected in these art genres.

SAQ2: How would you describe the various Contemporary Art Forms that we have today?
- Contemporary art forms, in my opinion, symbolize progress. In today's movement, consumer
participation is encouraged, as it gets as much value from a thorough intent as it does from viewer
input. Contemporary art forms, in my opinion, become a dialogue, allowing spectators to relate to
and feel the emotions of the creators and the work. It's experimental, conceptual, innovative,
expressive, and conceptual.

SAQ1: What do you think about the main contribution of Ramon Valera in the development
of fashion design?
- Valera was the most well-known couturier in the Philippines for the next three decades. He was
the only man dressmaker capable of designing, cutting, basting, and sewing on his own. He
prepared sketches to help his four assistants or generated designs directly in his thoughts.
SAQ3: What do you think are the roles of the Filipino artists in the field of Contemporary
Literature?
- Filipino artists contribute to the presentation and education of our history and identity to the
general audience. The market is strong, and many artists are working. Artist collectives are
booming. The level of discussion has risen. One of PCAN's goals is to bring together and utilize
the resources of Philippine contemporary art.
SAQ4: Among the National Artists for Performing Arts, whose contribution did you find
most interesting and remarkable? Justify your answer and write it on a sheet of paper.
- They're all great and imaginative, but Alice Reyes stands out for me. She had left an indelible
mark on the growth and promotion of contemporary dance in the Philippines. I was able to
interpret and relate to Alice's works as someone who enjoys dancing a lot.
SAQ5: What are the roles of the GAMABA Awardees? How do they permanently sustain the
link between the past and the future?
- They promote and preserve Filipino folk arts, ensuring that both the arts and the artists are
recognized. They also make it a point to revive both past and future arts.

Activity 2
The term "arts in the Philippines" refers to all of the various genres of art that have evolved
and been collected in the country from its beginning to the present day. They illustrate the
country's cultural diversity of artistic influences, including indigenous forms of art, as well as how
these influences have sharpened the country's arts. These crafts are divided into two groups:
traditional arts and non-traditional arts. Each branch is further broken into subcategories and
divisions. Today's artists are conceptual, innovative, expressive, and experimental in their work.
Interdisciplinary art, art research, development, production, exhibit, or creative creation of work
that allows the total utilization of two or more art disciplines to make a work for a specific audience
is referred to as Integrative Arts.
Personal, social, physical, and immaterial roles are all played by Filipino artists. The
Philippine government honors those who have made significant contributions to the development
of Philippine arts and letters. This prize is overseen by the National Commission for Culture and
the Arts (NCCA) and the Cultural Center of the Philippines. The GAMABA award is granted to a
Filipino citizen or group of Filipino citizens who are involved in a distinctly Filipino traditional art
form and whose unique abilities have achieved such a high level of technological and creative
quality. The Manlilikha ng Bayan bridges the gap between the past and the future. The winners
must pass on the skills of his or her traditional folk art to the younger generation through
apprenticeship and other appropriate training methods, work with the implementing agency to
promote and propagate his or her traditional folk arts, and donate a sample of his or her traditional
folk arts to the National Museum.
As you can see, the development of cultures and the arts is accelerating. Filipinos are
incredibly creative and intellectual when it comes to this form of art, and I should be pleased to
compose or create it as a Filipino citizen.
