It is with great pleasure that I recommend Susanna Hargreaves for this position. I have
worked with Susanna since 2018 as her advisor and instructor at Antioch University New
England In my time with Susanna, I’ve found her to be a creative, solutionary, flexible,
passionate educator with a deep commitment to bringing her best professional self to her
work.

As the first-ever graduate of our Library Media Specialist program, Susanna has had the
somewhat dubious honor to be the first through a whole host of systems. As one can
imagine, the first user of a system often surfaces glitches and unanticipated issues. Rather
than become frustrated, however, Susanna retained a positive attitude, even helping us to
refine systems so that they were more elegant and user-friendly, streamlining instructions
and offering valuable feedback that will change the way future students experience the
myriad administrative tasks required to achieve licensure.

As an educator, Susanna is a creative problem-solver. As the Covid-19 pandemic forced

schools to move to remote learning, she found opportunities to better understand not only
the standards required for graduation but also the unique needs of the school library as a
resource for students, families and teachers. She created a series of digital activities and
videos to keep students engaged and learning, supporting not only her cooperating
librarian but also the entire student population. Her enthusiasm was palpable and her work
was exemplary.

Susanna understands the unique role of the teacher-librarian and has the pedagogical,
literary, entrepreneurial skills necessary to be an extraordinary addition to any school.
While I will miss her as a student in our program, I’m honored and thrilled to call her a
colleague and recommend her without reservation for this position.
