Course Aims
The main objective of the Final Year Project is to provide a platform for students to demonstrate
their ability to apply their knowledge and skills gained from coursework studies and practicum
work. This course helps the students to gain confidence and experience in tackling project work
independently which should contribute to their effective transition to the job market upon
graduation.
Intended Learning Outcomes (ILO)
2) Make sound decisions, to progress and develop time and resource management skills to
complete the project successfully.
3) Write good quality technical reports so that readers can understand the significance of the
problems addressed and the application of engineering knowledge in reaching the solutions
presented within the reports.

Formative feedback
Through the regular meetings with project supervisor and teammates, formative feedback will be
provided to you both verbally and/or in writing over the 2 semesters.
Learning and Teaching Approach
Introduction of You are to understand the relevant background of the problem, and the
Project motivation of the project.
Literature Review You are expected to read up on the related subjects and review what had
been achieved/reported critically. The process enables you to work out a
suitable scope of the project and be able to support all the decisions
taken during the work.
Methodology You are to analyze all factors in the problem and formulate a workable
method or approach for the solution, noting dependency of constraints.
Result Analysis and You will be able to develop skills to present their results obtained from
Discussion simulation/experiments in a professional way, as well as to interpret and
discuss the results to draw conclusions.
Conclusion and You are to review the value of the work completed and the limitations.
Recommendation An estimate of the cost of solution to be included if appropriate and to
