Course Learning Outcomes Required Output


1. Discuss, analyse, and interpret a poetic text demonstrating their
content knowledge and applying the basic approaches to literary 1) Quizzes
theory and criticism relevant to the body of literature and English 2) Learning logs
language teaching; 3) Reaction papers
2. Analyse literary periods/movements using a definitive text/author 4) Written Reports
thereby promoting critical thinking and other higher order
thinking skills in literary criticism and critical theory approaches;
and
3. Write an original critique paper addressing problems in critical
theory from the classical to modern times as applied to literary
works, and drawing implications to English language and
literature teaching

Course Policies Grading System


In the absence of face to face interaction between students and
teachers, the following must be observed: Major Examination…………60%
1. Assignments, and other required outputs must be submitted on Requirements…………….. 40%
or before deadlines. Late submission of the same will mean a Total 100%
deduction of grade.
2. Students should take the Midterm and Final term Examination
on schedule. No special Examination will be given except for a
very valid reason.
