ANSWER
1. Yes, because the moment that you entered in the institutions particularly in school, you are
already part of the Law. First year in college is the first step to understand the basic concepts of
NSTP.
2. St udents are not allowed to graduate without taking NSTP. For those students who have any
baccalaureate degree course or at least two years to complete the NSTP components as requisite
for graduation. Only there is an exemption for those students who have been taken NSTP from
prior degrees, transferees and foreign students and shifters who completed NSTP.
3. It is not necessarily that after taking NSTP will have an exact return of it. Completing NSTP
subject is a compliance for all students. But to be exact, it is about the contributions of students
that they can give for the general welfare and also for the betterment of community. In this
program, we can at least provide service in the fields of health, environment and education.
Moreover, those students who completed LTS and CWTS will be part of the National Service
Reserve Corps (NSRC) while those students who complete ROTC shall be part of the Citizen
Armed Force.
4. Students will not pay for the NSTP Fees. It is stated in RA. No. 9163 section 8 about the fees
and incentives. Higher and technical vocational institution, shall not collect any fee for any
NSTP components except basic tuition fees. Only the school authorities concerned, CHED and
TESDA are shall pay for insurance for health provided for students who enrolled in any of the
NSTP components.
5. NSTP program shall be undertaken for an academic period of two semester NSTP 1 and 2,
equivalent to one semester integrated NSTP 1-2 course. The allotted time for NSTP classes per
semester is 54-90 hours. The whole NSTP weighs six units and taken for two semesters
