GENERAL - ¡.ÍETHODOLOGY
FOR DIAGNOSTICS

A) Senographe failures are located using a n&intens¡ce co¡¡sole and the

softna¡e tests listed in nenu 4 (see aL1 LG Jobcards, Para 7.9\.

The Senographe is ready to accept a first lrj-gger request when the kV

windovJ (Fis. I.26 (3) of IMEX) is lit.

Check that the configuratj.on of the Senographe is appropriate (see

pa,rag?aph 7.3.1). It eay be r.¡rong due to sn operator error.

The DAs Eeter has tvro functions !

- It displays the nAs:

. Displays the tota.L EAs vaJ-ue reached during a¡ exposure in

l-poi¡t node.
. Displays the total DAs value reached when an exposure in
2-poi¡¡t node is interrupted by pushing the RESET bu¡ton.

- It displ, ays the error codes used as a diagnostic aj.d (see list in

paragraph 7.3.2 ) .

D) Depending on the tlDe of fault involved. the generator configuration

(power-on phase) deteroines whether or no¿ the screen displays coEe
up and whether or not the tests can be run. The configurations a¡e
described iD paraglaphs 7.5.2 a¡d7.5.3 together rdith the
possibilities allowed in each ca.se.

Iten B: EFRORCoDES (softrdare inplenenta¿ion card LG001) nay be

consulted rr¡hen the genera.tor is at least in the Po!íER-IJP
configuration (described in Para 7.5.2).

NOfE
'tt
The Service Engineer is advised to consult the ERRoR CoDES
¡¡enu as soon as possible after the start of the r0aintena¡rce
operation. This is because the error codes are updated each
tiDe the Senographe is switched on. When additional errors
occur, the 1j.st i.s Boved uprdards, thereby erasing the
!¡essages at the top of the 1ist. (The CustoEer uay have
si{j.tched the equipaent 0N s¡d oFF several ti!¡es before the
Service Engineer aFived) .

Do not reÍove the boards in the ELECTRONICSchassis (u¡1ess

indispensable) before switching the equipDent o¡t to consult
the ERRoR CoDES in nenu 4 as the systeE accu.Bulates other
other error codes :
t+O for the unconnected PHOTOMULTIPLIERboard
8150 E160 for tlro u¡con¡rected HEATER boards
E140 for the unconnected INVERTER CoNTROL board
820 E190 for the unconnected GENE8AToRINTERFACE board

7-8
The following tests listed in nenu 4 ¡¡ay only be run i.f ¡he
Senographe configuration is at least that described in paragraph

C: POTffi TEST
D: ANODE STARTER
E: HEATER TEST
F: HI@I VOLTAGE GH\IERATORTEST

then ON again. Pressir¡g the 1st a¡rd 2nd triggers r{,i11 produce X-ray

To retus¡ to the llaÍn Menu, follow the standard procedure (see IMEX,

RECOM¡'ENDATIONS:

1-point Eode PB released (see I!,IEX/ASSE¡IIBLER'SMANUAL, F).5 L.26,

Tttus :

- Ttre control pa¡el has priorj.ty over other control.s r{'hen the sna11
nAs wj¡rdow is lit (¡{PUIUSER MANUAL, Fig 1.8 (6) ) ,

- llle console has priority over other controls when the sBa.l-l BAs

CAUSES FOR THE KV I{INDOW NOT LIT WHE{ SENOCRAPHEIS IN SECOND PHASE

- The SENoffiAPIIE has Eade too ¡¡¡any closely spaced exposures at high

The Dost probable cause preventing the SENoGRAPHE going to second

Switch off SENoGAPHE via PB oFF.

open circuit breaker DJ1.

Place boald 400-PL3 on extender a¡d connect (-) of vol.tDeter to

28 C and (+) to 26 C 0F XJ2 (rop connector).

Close circuit breaker DJl.

Measured voltage should be -3.30 V tO.5 V.

Poser up SENOGRAPHE by hitting PB ON. Measured voltage should

reach '3.30 V tO.5 V within three seconds. This tl¡¡ee-second
delay Eay be exceeded to protect resistors R1, R2 ar¡d R3 of the
Power Supply chassis against overheating caused by too
closely-spaced power-ups.

A fault in the CoNSoLE boafd, 100-PL6. does not prevent getti¡g

coDplele slritch-on status {it is essentiaf to have 0FF,/0N
pushbutton continui¡y ensured by the CoNSoLE boa.rd, 4O0-PL6),
Hordever, if PL6 is faulty, the kV window does not light up.

- kV irindoh' is lit: 1st trigger is enabled.

Consequentl}', thg enoCe starter rel,sy .,'ibrates when the 1st

However, if 100-PL6 is faulty, the kV windo!, does not light up.
