 INTRODUCTION

SUZO STC Hopper

This section describes how to adjust and test the

Suzo STC Hopper of a Atronic Cashline or e-motion
machine.

any other lubricant in the coin

Note: After service or repair,

the Hopper should be
thoroughly checked in the
Hopper out test routine of the
machine.

Technical specifications

• Suitable for coins or tokens from 18mm - 40mm

• Counts approx. 450 coins (US 0.25c) per minute
• Capacity of 1000 coins (US 0.25c) - standard cup
• Capacity of 1600 coins (US 0.25c) - extended cup
• Capacity of 2100 coins (US 0.25c) - Jumbo cup
• Operating voltage: 24 V DC

Hopper removal Warning:

The hopper may be heavy!

Procedure for Cashline

1. Open the main door.

2. Switch off the machine.
3. Remove the coin bowl assy.
4. Grip the Hopper handle with the left hand and with
the thumb pointing downwards, press the Hopper
securing clip and slide the Hopper outwards.

Procedure for e-motion

1. Unlock and open the main door.
2. Switch off the machine.
3. Close the main door.
4. Unlock the Hopper Drawer and slide it to the
left.Then pull out the Hopper drawer.
5. Lift the coin bowl retaining lever on the right side
of the Hopper drawer (a).
6. Hold the coin bowl to prevent it from falling open
and release the coin bowl retaining lever on the
left side of the Hopper drawer (b).
7. Gently lower the coin bowl until it stops (c).
8. Slide the Hopper out of the Hopper support guide.

Note: If the (optional) Lock Ang-

le (1) is used it is not possible
to pull out the hopper drawer
without opening the Main Door!

High level sensor adjustment

The coin bowl of the Suzo Hopper is spring mounted.

The weight of the coins determines at which point
the level switch is activated.

Adjusting the high level sensor

1. Fill the bowl with the appropriate amount of coins.

2. Move down the tension clip.

3. Slowly turn the adjustment screw clockwise until

the level switch is activated in the down position.

4. Fasten the lock nut.

5. Move tension clip back to the adjustment screw.

For a wider adjustment range, adjust the tension of

the coin bowl's spring mount by loosen or tighten
the set screw.

Hopper switches test

Testing the coin switch and the highlevel switch can

be done in the service menu.

Operating the switches by hand.

1. Enter "Service menu".

(Open maindoor and press Service button).

2. Enter switch test menu.

• For e-motion:
Select "Other tests / Switch".

• For Cashline:
Select "Selftest / Switch test".

4. The current status of the switches can be seen on

the monitor.

5. Operating the switches by hand should change the

status on the monitor.

Coin switch adjustment

The coin switch (or count switch) is activated by the

paid out coins and sends the switching operation to
the Masterboard.

Note: Always perform a
Hopper out test after adjusting
the Hopper coin switch to avoid
wrong payouts.
Adjusting the coin switch

1. When the roller is in the neutral position (no coin

touching the roller), the coin switch should be open.

2. Place a coin on the pin wheel underneath the roller.

The count switch should close when the roller mo-
ves upwards.

3. Move the coin to the coin out channel. The switch

should close again as the coin leaves the roller.

Hopper out test routine

With the Hopper out test routine the proper adjust-

ment of the coin switch can be tested.

1. Enter "Service menu".

2. Run "Hopper out" test.

• For e-motion:
Select "Diagnostics / Hopper / Hopper 1 and run
the "Hopper out" test (default 10 coins).

• For Cashline:
Select "Hopper out 1" and run the "Hopper out"
test (default 5 coins) by pressing the middle lit
button for 4 sec.

3. Make sure the exact number of coins are paid out.

4. Run the Hopper switch test.

For Cashline: Press the left lit button for 4 sec.
The Hopper will perform a coin out routine.

5. The switching period values (in msec) will be dis-

played. If any of the values is below 12 msec the
count switch has to be readjusted.

Coin wiper adjustment

The coin wiper singles out the coins to prevent coin

jamming.

Note: The wiper should guide
and not hold the coin.

Adjusting the coin wiper

1. Lay a coin beneath the wiper.

2. Loosen both screws and adjust the wiper so that

it is lightly brushing the surface of the coin.

3. Tighten alternately both screws checking that the

alignment is still correct.

Hopper knife adjustment

The front surface of the Hopper knife should be flush

to the pin wheel and lay gently on the shelf wheel.

Adjusting the hopper knife

1. Loosen the 2 mounting screws.

2. Correct the alignment of the knife. The front sur-

face of the Hopper knife should be flush to the pin
wheel and lay gently on the shelf wheel.

3. Fasten the 2 mounting srews.

4. Check that the alignment of the knife is still cor-

rect.
