Oral Presentation Guidelines

The Oral Presentation of Chapters 1 to 3 of your research paper will be your final examination while the
Research Paper consisting of Chapters 1 to 3 will be the Final Performance Task for this term.
Presentation guidelines listed below should be strictly followed. Failure in doing so merits deduction from
points based on the score calculated from the rubrics.

I. Final Paper for PR2 – Chapters 1 to 3:


a. Apply all necessary corrections for all chapters.
b. Submit the required chapters before presenting.
i. Softcopy via email of your subject teacher and SALT.
ii. Hardcopy to subject teacher following the format indicated below:

Refer the rules below upon composing your paper. For strict compliance!

 Use standard 8.5 x 11 inch (letter size) good quality white paper.
 Use 12-pt Times New Roman font.
 Double space lines throughout the paper.
Exceptions: Triple or quadruple spacing can be done around equations.
Single or one-and-a-half spacing can be done in tables or figures.
 Use a 1 inch (2.54 cm) margin on all sides of each page—left, right, top, and
bottom.
 Text appears on one side of the paper—the reverse side is blank.
 Left justify your margins, meaning the left margin will be flush to the left
side of the page and the right margin will be uneven.
 Indent the first line of every paragraph five to seven spaces or a standard
―Tab‖ key space (½ inch).
 Use 2 spaces after a sentence period in your paragraph and 1 space after
commas, colons, and semicolons.

PAGE NUMBERING: Number all pages of the paper, beginning with the title page.
The number is in the top right corner (1 inch from right and ½ inch from the top page
edges).

d. Submit the paper in a CLEAR folder. Follow the assigned color per strand:

ABM – Yellow MAD – Red


HUMSS – Clear HA – Blue
STEM – Green PES - Purple
ALL SLIDES ARE BLACK

II. Oral Presentation Media


a. Power Point Presentation should be submitted at least a week before the scheduled
presentation.
b. Power Point Presentation should have a maximum of 15 slides. (inclusive of Title)
c. Use numbering and bullets to denote specific topics for each chapter of your research
paper.

d. Presentation animation are unnecessary but may be used for diagrams and Integrated
Media.
e. Each group will be given 15 minutes for Oral Presentation.
f. Avoid using bright colored themes and diagrams.
g. Integrated Media (videos, music, images) may be used as long as it does not extend the
overall time for presentation and exceed the maximum number of slides.
h. Have the Power Point Presentation printed as non-colored Handouts (2 in very page) and
submit to your subject teacher before presenting.

III. Scoring Criteria


a. An analytic rubric will be used to evaluate your presentation. (attached in this guideline).

b. Teacher may ask questions addressed to the assigned presenter in between slides. Only
the active presenter may answer the question, other group members must not interject, so
with the audience. A point deduction for every instances shall be given to the presenting
group.
c. For every minute exceeded is a point deduction to the final score.
d. Number of presenter is upon the discretion of the subject teacher. It may not comprise the
entire group.
e. Be concise with the information presented, avoid reading the content of slides. A guide
sheet or an index card (1/2) containing pertinent information about the presentation may
be used.
f. Fact sheets, periodicals and other resources cited or included in the appendices may be
used to aid the presentation.
g. Fill-out the necessary information on the Analytic Rubric Score Sheet attached and
submit it to your subject teacher together with the Research Paper before presenting.
