DISCUSSION BOARD
1. How do we describe the educational level in the Philippines?
 The educational level in the Philippines has three level first is the Basic education
this level includes ; Kindergarten, Grade 1 to Grade 6 for elementary, Grade 7 to
Grade 10 for Junior High school, Grade 11 and 12 for Senior High School. The
second is the Technical Vocational Education. The last is the Higher education
this includes Baccalaureate or Bachelor Degrees (Masterate and Doctorate)
which are under the regulation of CHED.

2. What are the types of curricula that exist in every educational institution?
 The recommended Curriculum
 Written Curriculum
 Taught Curriculum
 Supported Curriculum
 Assessed Curriculum
 Learned Curriculum
 Hidden Curriculum

3. How do we describe our role as curricularist?


 As a curricularist we are a professional who is curriculum specialist. A person
who is known as curriculum knower ,writer, Initiator, Innovator, Implementor
and Evaluator. A teacher’s role is broader and inclusive of other functions and so
teacher is a curricularist.

4. Can you name at least 5 examples of the types of curricula that exist in your school?
Identify each as to what type of curricula.
 Written Curriculum- Those documents, text and supportive materials that are
overtly chosen to support the instructional agenda of our school.
 Recommended Curriculum- Our School is under the Commission on Higher
Education (CHED) which refers to CHED Memorandum Order No 75 Series of
2017 and CHED Memorandum Order No 74 series of 2017.
 Taught Curriculum- Our teachers create different teaching approach, method
and strategies to make the teaching and learning process meaningful.
 Assessed curriculum- It is important to have this curriculum to make sure that
our objective attained or not.
 Learned Curriculum- This Curriculum is the outcome by the assessed curriculum
it measures if the student understands or learned the topic well.

5. Can you give at least 5 examples of situations where you performed your roles as a
curricularist? Describe your role in each of the examples.
 Knower- as a curricularist I should know and mastered the content of the
curriculum. It is important to me to master the subject matter.
 Writer- As a teacher writing a lesson plan is necessary to serve as a guide in
teaching and learning process. Also, teachers record the learning outcome of the
students.
 Innovator- the student learned best whenever teachers provide different
instructional materials that make teaching and learning more exciting,
interesting and interactive.
 Implentor- As a future teacher I experienced to implement the curriculum by
demonstrating the topic to my students.
 Evaluator- At the end of my demonstration teaching I evaluate my students by
giving them a quiz to make sure that the desired learning outcomes have been
achieved.
