1. PURPOSE
The purpose of this procedure is to derive a system, establish a procedure, provide training and assign
responsibilities for Waste Handling and Disposal of Paper, Boards, empty ink cans, printing scrap, plastic
bags, printed bags, extrude waste and general items including sewage handling to maintain acceptable level
of Hygiene and Cleanliness in all areas of plant in accordance with GMP and to control misuse of client’s
printed material.
2. SCOPE
This procedure is applicable for handling and disposal of all waste of Paper, Boards, empty ink cans, printing
scrap, plastic bags, and printed bags, extrude waste including printed waste generated at the facility in an
acceptable manner.

4. PROCEDURE
4.1. PREPARATION AND EXECUTION OF WASTE HANDLING & DISPOSAL SCHEDULE
4.1.1 Production Supervisor prepares the waste handling and disposal schedule on the basis of
following:
 Type and Quantity of the waste generated in each concerned area of the factory.
 Maintenance of Hygienic conditions at all time.
 Safety of personnel and equipment.
 Safety of Brand’s name to be used in the market.
4.2Production Supervisor along with QC Supervisor & Shift in charges ensures that equipment and personnel
are available to execute the waste handling tasks as per schedule.
4.3Packaging waste material, either it is printed material or plastic bag form must be made torn before
disposal to eliminate the risk of reuse. Before disposal it should be collected in the marked designated
containers at waste generation site for temporary storage.
4.4Production Supervisor should ensure that waste is removed properly immediately upon generation and
stored in the right site containers.
4.5The Production Supervisor will ensure that the site containers are emptied in the appropriate master
container at the disposal site at the end of the shift or when full.
4.6The Production Supervisor will ensure timely disposal of master containers.

4.7The Shift In Charge ensures the availability, maintenance and replacement of site and master containers
and waste handling equipment.
4.8Sewage Handling & Disposal:
Sewage handling being performed by the designated sweepers at factory. All drain lines are covered and
designed to prevent pest entry. No such massive sewage was created during production as no such water
is being used in production but all of the generated sewage is of general usage facilities.
