Math 7 Quarter 4 Week 4 Graphs to represent Organized Data

This lesson allows you to explore different ways of organizing and presenting data such as using
tables, graphs or charts. Presenting data using graphs or charts such as frequency histogram, bar graphs, line
graphs and pie charts or circle graphs will be studied. This will help you realize when to use such kind of
graph and what information each of these types can provide.

PIE GRAPH. It shows how a whole is divided into parts. The parts must total 100%. To create a circle
graph, (1) Express the number in each category as a percentage of the total. (2) Convert this percentage to an
angle in the circle. Multiply the percent by 360 to find the number of degrees for each category. (3) Use a
protractor to construct a circle graph.
