CLARIFIED ON 08/07/2019:
These are all reference numbers for cases opened on the MET's "Report a road
traffic incident"
https://www.met.police.uk/ro/report/rti/report-a-road-traffic-incident/
After reporting them, the user gets an automated email with these reference
numbers, but usually nothing else.
DECISION
I have been informed that the correct route to request this information is through the
following email address:
CO16Mailbox-.Allegation-Correspondence@met.police.uk
I have been informed that if the MPS proceed with an investigation an update email is
sent to each alleger from the above mailbox which has their Pentip reference which they
can reply to for future enquiries.
If the MPS are taking no further action on the case we send out an NFA email
explaining the reason which allows the person to reply back. However, due to the
current work load I have been advised that these are being delays by roughly a month
in response time.
Please email the above mailbox with your request as this cannot be dealt with under
FOIA.
With regards to the references ending in 48 you would need to contact City of London
Police.
I trust that this satisfies your enquiry and I would like to take this opportunity to thank
you for your interest in the MPS.
Should you have any further enquiries concerning this matter, please contact me via
email at Jennifer.Powell@met.police.uk, quoting the reference number above.
Yours sincerely
Jen Powell
