Chapter I
A lot of people when they go to an Encounter, they come back very excited
and are willing to follow the Lord being radicals in all areas of their lives.
They don’t want anything with the world. Nevertheless, since they don’t
know how to handle certain things in their lives, they allow those
circumstances to overcome them.
Some young kids come back home very motivated, they abandon drugs, bad
companies and some bondages; but they give in to temptation when they
don’t know how to overcome some embarrassing situations.
A certain young man had just come back from an Encounter and when he
went back to the university he wanted to blend in with the crowd (fit in,
being still like them), he didn’t want to be accused of being a “fanatic”. On a
certain occasion he went with them to a bar, his intentions were honest to
just drink a coke, but he ended up drinking a beer, he did drugs and was once
again in bondage by Satan.
As time passed, he dropped off from the university, and left his home. He
started living a very miserable life, he sold his clothes for drugs, got into
fights that left his arms stabbed and needless to say, his life was marked
with unhappiness.
I. WHAT IS THE WORLD
A. WORLD
The world represents everything that displeases God, and opposes God’s
teachings and is under the dominium (ruling) of Satan (1 John 5:19).
The apostle John teaches three aspects that manifest love for the world:
1. THE DESIRES OF THE FLESH, 2.THE DESIRES OF THE EYES,
AND 3.THE BOASTING OF WHAT HE HAS AND DOES; VAINGLORY.
(WHAT I HAVE AND WHAT I DO).
1 John 2:15-17
Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the
world, the love of the Father is not in him. For everything in the world
–the cravings of sinful man, the lust of his eyes and the boasting of
what he has and does—comes not from the Father but from the world.
The world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the will of
God lives forever.
Galatians 5:17-21:
For the sinful nature desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the
Spirit what is contrary to the sinful nature. They are in conflict with
each other, so that you do not do what you want.
This shows the big conflict that every Christian lives: The flesh wants one
thing and the Spirit wants another thing, that is why is very important that
we feed our spiritual man.
Our purpose should then be that our spirit overcomes the battle against the
flesh. Dr. Billy Graham illustrates it in the following manner:
1st.Peter 2:14:
“With eyes full of adultery, they never stop sinning; they seduce the
unstable; they are experts in greed – and accursed brood” (a pattern of
continued evil- an offspring of evil).
Matthew 5:27-28:
“You have heard that it was said, Do not commit adultery, But I tell you
that anyone who LOOKS at a woman lustfully has already committed
adultery with her in his heart”.
The word “LOOKS”, refers to the desires of the eyes, to a look filled with
lust, that awakens in our minds images and impure thoughts.
Someone said “the first look is not a sin, but it is the second look”
The second look seeks to satisfy, even in the mind its own desires.
Beacon’s commentary says that this kind of lust is: “the tendency to be
captivated (caught up) by the outer appearance of things, without finding
out their true value”.
The desires of the eyes include not only a “LOOK”, but also the “MIND” and
the “IMAGINATION”, and they seek satisfaction through pornography,
literature, or movies that don’t edify, CREATING AN ADDICITON THAT
CAN ONLY BE SATISFIED BY THE PLEASURES OF THE FLESH.

As we can see, the influence of the desires of our eyes are serious, they
manipulate our mind and they take us to the point of forgetting what Christ
did for us, this is why it is good to follow the advise of the apostle Paul, who
exhorts us to walk in the Spirit and not to satisfy the desires of the flesh.
After a person has committed the sin that originated in the mind, the
sequence follows, it does not stop there. There are CONSEQUENCES
Habit
Loss of Control
Supernatural Bondage
Enemy’s Camp
Control
A good example of it is when I spend more money than what I earn, and I
live indebt, which robs my peace. I cannot get rid of this HABIT, because I
want to show off by buying brand name clothes, cell phone, going to “IN”
places, belonging to social clubs, thinking that this is how I can gain respect
from people.

The world can affect me when I give in to its demands, when I share and
laugh at its dirty and double meaning jokes, and I participate with their
dirty comments, or with their invitations to participate in drinking liquor and
partying with them. It affects me when these activities stop being fun and
start being a bondage, when I end up involved in situations that I want to get
out of, but cannot get out anymore .
For Example; a bad sentimental relationship will only leave you frustration,
disillusion, an illness such as cirrhosis of the liver due to excessive alcohol,
or a venereal disease due to a loose sexual and disordered life.
Jesus does not want to isolate us from the world, He wants us to shine and
for us to be light in the place that we are in, He said:
“My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you
protect them from the evil one”. John 17:15
You should learn from the beginning, to be a radical against sin and be able
to show to the world without disguise that you are an overcomer and a true
Christian. For example: If they offer you a drink, don’t lie saying: No
Thank You, I’m taking medication, but the truth of the matter is that you
are not really taking any medication, but you truly don’t want to confront the
situation.
Job 22:28
“What you decide on will be done, and light will shine on
your ways”
Decide ahead of time those things that you will not give into. For Example:
Going to parties or social gatherings with non-Christians where there is
alcohol or other vices. If you determine yourself ahead of time you will
avoid a struggle and you will be able to close the door to a possible fall.
The important thing is to say: “No matter what happens, I will not leave the
path that I have chosen; that is a true determination! when I do my part,
God will surely do His: He will bring His Light to show us what we should say
and what we should do.
They will constantly dare you to do evil, and they will instigate you (convince
you) to go back to the world.
Share with those people that dare you or challenge you to have a Stronger
relationship with God.
Share with God every day through prayer and be able to maintain a style of
living that will not allow you to separate from God. For this, it is very helpful
to ask yourself the following questions when you confront situations that
bring doubt or uncertainty:
“What Would Jesus Do If He Was In My Place?”

“For the prince of this world is coming. He has no hold
on me”

HOW TO OVERCOME TEMPTATION I.
I. WHAT IS TEMPTATION?
It is a very powerful spiritual influence that attacks the soul of the human
being (everybody, including you) with the sole purpose of separating us from
the intimate, beautiful and fruitful relationship that we have with God.
Following are some observations made from the biblical verses of James
1:15-16
“And Sin, when it is full grown, gives birth to death” temptation comes
before sin, temptation came in, and the person “hatched it”, in other
words, the person got pregnant with sin and then there comes a painful
process of the separation from God, and as a consequence, “spiritual
death” comes in.
In the first place, God the Father has nothing to do with the temptations
that we as humans have:
James 1:13
When tempted, no one should say, “God is tempting me.” For
God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone.
In the second place, we are going to learn that the bible, the Word of
God says that the beginning (source) of temptation comes in a three fold
(triple way):
“But the Most powerful source of temptation is in man himself (us, by our
own desires)…”
James 1:14
“But each one is tempted when, by his own evil desire, he is dragged
away and enticed.”
We have made several observations from this verse: (James 1:14)
CONCLUSION:
Hosea 4:6“My people are destroyed from lack of knowledge. “Because you
have rejected knowledge, I will also reject you as my priest”.

The Christian fruitful and victorious life is based in the discipline of applying
the following keys every day of your life.
A daily key prayer that we should pray daily is to ask God that we
have God’s fear in our lives (Prov. 8:13). We should always confess
our sins in our prayer. (1st Corinthians 11:28; Psalms 51:1-19 & 1st
John 1:9) This does not imply that we should be confessing the same
sins all the time, unless we are committing the same sins over and
over, which if that is the case that implies that something is wrong
with our Christian life.
d. though my mind and the devil tell me that I won’t be able to overcome
it, “God will not let us be tempted beyond what we can bear.” We
have the divine capacity to resist every temptation.

“But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus
Christ”.
The Lord will always guide you to be triumphant in Christ and will never guide
you to any defeats.
Definition:
An obstacle is an object or something that keeps a person from doing
certain things. It is something that makes us fall into sin or a stumbling
block.
A. THE WORLD
“John 17:15 My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but
that you protect them from the evil one.”
Three of the most strongest obstacles that Christians face in the world:
- The desires of the world (Glory, riches, own abilities)
- The desires of the flesh (everything that is against the Spirit of God)
- Friendships of the world (non-Christians)
Philipians 4:8
“Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is
right whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable-if
anything is excellent or praiseworthy-think about such things”.
Colossians 3:1-3
“Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on
things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. Set
your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and
your life is now hidden with Christ in God.”
Galatians 5:16
“So I say, live by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the
sinful nature”.
Galatians 5:24-25
“Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with
its passions and desires. Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step
with the Spirit”.
Psalms 119:11 “I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not
sin against you.”
James 5:19-20 “My brothers, if one of you should wander from the
truth and someone should bring him back, remember this: whoever turns
a sinner from the error of his way will save him from death and cover
over a multitude of sins”.
B. TEMPTATIONS
What is temptation?
Temptation is something that tests the endurance and strength of the
character of a person. Temptation comes from Satan and of the desires of
the flesh.
How does temptation work?
The Devil looks for an area in your life where you are weak. He then tempts
you in that area. Temptation is not a sin- it becomes a sin when you give in
to it.
Psalms 145:2-3 “Every day I will praise you and exalt your name for
ever and ever. Great is the Lord and Most worthy of Praise; his
greatness no one can fathom.”
C. THE FAMILY
Men and women all over the world are born to families and all these families
have their own traditions and values and in most cases, they have their
religious beliefs which they practice. If these traditions and beliefs are not
of the Christian faith, the believer suffers persecution or he is attracted to
traditions and family beliefs. In both cases these are obstacles that come
to try to destroy his faith.
This is the reason that we must know how to conquer those negative family
influences and obstacles so that they will not hurt our effectiveness as
Christians.
Win your family over in prayer. 1st. Timothy 2:1 “ I urge, then, first
of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for
everyone”
1st. Timothy 4:12 “Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are
young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in
faith and in purity.”
Galatians 6:9
“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will
reap a harvest if we do not give up”.

WELCOME TO THE WAR I
Introduction
Without any doubt, we all have heard or watched the Battle of the Galaxies,
where they pretend to teach us about the struggle between good and evil;
nevertheless, the Bible affirms us that since the beginning of creation
there’s a true war, which we know as The war of the kingdoms; the kingdom
of the darkness and the Kingdom of Light, The Kingdom of Heaven and the
kingdom of hell,
Ever since we gave our life to the Lord Jesus Christ, we became God’s
children and “we were transferred to the Kingdom of His beloved Son”
This kingdom transfer brought us enmity (an enemy) of Satan and all his
demons and the beginning of a spiritual war.

INTRODUCTION
Too many times we have seen so many Christians fall of the Grace of God.
Why do Christians fall? Why is it that after some people attend an
Encounter they turn around and immediately abandon the Lord? The reason
for that is that they ignore the fact that they are in a Spiritual War, they
ignore how the enemies of their souls act, but most of all they ignore that
they can overcome them because they have the weapons to do so.
The believer has the only weapons to overcome his three enemies: (The
World, The Flesh, and Satan):
THE BELIEVER:

No army as ever gone to battle with the certainty of winning the war over
their enemy, like the army of the church of Jesus Christ.
The church will continue to be triumphant over the enemy as long as the
church is obedient to the General.
CONCLUSION
In the spiritual warfare that you are in, God wants you to have the victory,
use all the weapons that He has given you, live as a triumphant soldier,
knowing that your enemy has already been defeated, but above all, live daily
as an obedient soldier.

Everyone that longs to live in victory must learn to depend in God daily
through prayer. Prayer is the opportunity that God gives men to
communicate with Him, the Greatest Being: All-Powerful; to whom nothing is
impossible. A constant life of prayer gives us the power to overcome.
Prayer is like dynamite, great things can be done in the lives of those
that practice prayer daily. That is the reason that we should make
prayer a life-style. Prayer can be part of our character and our
habits, just as the habits of eating, sleeping, taking daily showers…etc.
Jesus Christ made prayer a daily habit by getting away from everybody
to talk privately with his father. Mark 1:35
“Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left
the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.” Mark
1:35
I. THE IMPORTANCE OF PRAYER
As believers in Christ we should follow the foot-steps of our Master, this
means to dedicate (separate) time to be alone with our God, preferably in
the morning, in order to have his direction all day. We will have His support
in the different situations or decisions that we should take or face for the
day .
In order for you to pray effectively, look for the best time that suits
you, whether it is morning, afternoon, or night; pray by yourself, that
way you can have a time of intimacy with God and you will be able to
pour out your heart to him with liberty.
Praying at church or with other Christians is very nice when you start to
walk with God. But when you pray by yourself with God, you have a lot of
advantages that will make you love that special time with the Lord, without
having to depend to pray with others.
“But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your
father who is unseen. Then your father, who sees what is done in
secret, will reward you”.
The private prayer has the advantage that since nobody is hearing us, we can
say everything we feel, everything we want, everything that is worrying us,
we can go to God with our defects and virtues, since He knows us just the
way we are, He knows our thoughts and intentions even before we tell him
anything.
God delights Himself in hearing us, He longs for us jealously, and His desire
is to help us through our prayer and through his word.
The most appropriate thing is to have a time during the day in which we
can get together with God through prayer, and begin to develop a habit
to pray. We should not fall in legalism, in other words, if I fail to do
my devotional time with God one day, I should not allow guilt to come in,
in such a case, I should learn my lesson, and seek the Lord more
heartedly, and try not to put other things first. Just think that on
your daily appointment with God, He will not fail you, without doubt He
will be waiting for you to give you His love, to take away all burdens and
to bless you.
To pray is to pour your heart out, which implies that prayer is much more
than repeating words, or mechanic phrases, while our mind thinks of
something else. To pray is to speak with understanding, being conscious that
we are speaking to an intelligent Being, though we can’t see Him, He is
present everywhere there’s someone willing to seek him with all his heart.
The Lord says “Whoever comes to me, I will never drive away” John 6:37
If we seek Him, He will be there, He will receive us and He will not ignore us.
That is the reason that when we pray, we must pray with all our heart, and
not only with our lips, prayers that we can remember and know when they
have been answered.
In the measure that you get familiar to speak with God, you will include
other persons in your prayers, by praying for them, you will do much for
them. Pray as God guides you to pray for and believe that you will receive an
answer. Finish your devotional time giving thanks to God for the blessings
that you have received and for the work He has done in your life.
You must keep in mind that during the day God is at your side and you can
speak to him at any time that you consider necessary. He will be happy when
you do that, He will feel part of your life and this will be a way in which you
can show your love for Him.
The word says in Proverbs 28:13 “He who conceals his sins does not
prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them finds mercy.”
Then, ask the Holy Spirit the strength to continue living according to
God’s will and finish giving thanks to God for the victory.

YOU AND TO CONTINUE TO HELP YOU MAINTAIN YOUR
COMMUNION WITH HIM”.

THE WORD: FOUNTAIN OF LIFE I
On a certain occasion, a young person with a lot of efforts was able to get a
train ticket to make a long trip that he had always dreamed of. During the
trip he hardly ate anything, he had spent all his money on the ticket, and he
didn’t think that the little he had was going to be enough to pay for his food
at the restaurant. On the last day, he was feeling that he couldn’t stand his
hunger anymore, he went to the dining room telling himself: “I’m going to eat
good today, even if I have to pay by washing dishes”. What a big surprise
he had when he asked the waiter for his check, to what the waiter
answered: No Sir, you do not owe anything, your ticket includes all your
meals.
That happens to us a lot of times, we have in our own hands the Fountain Of
Our Provision And Blessing: The Word Of God, Our Fountain Of Life And
Promises, and though we have all this, we do what the young man on the story
did, we live without enjoying every good thing God has for us; we ignore the
Word Of God, Its Promises and Its Blessings.
We should love the word and follow its indications as a captain of a ship does
with the compass. That way we learn to act with wisdom and to take
advantage of it (the word) for our lives. The Bible is the greatest of all
treasures, it has the answer to all our needs, it tells us how to manage our
finances, our relations with other people, family, feelings and problems.
Psalms 119:105 your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path.
Joshua 1:8 Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth;
meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do
everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.
God has given us His Word with a purpose, to be our guide on our daily walk,
and on all decisions and business in our lives. The Psalmist says: “Your word
is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path”. Psalms 119:105 God
inspired different men at different times, different cultures that through
His Word, The Bible, we could know him and receive his promises. But how
This is fundamental so that the Word can affect your life; when your
understanding opens up, the Word makes itself light, and you are able to
understand things that you already knew or had heard, but they had never
really touched you. When the Word accomplishes to impact your heart, the
Word now becomes your Fountain of Life, it establishes principles that start
guiding your life, it is a part of your daily walk, it changes your way of
thinking and your way of living.
B. MEDITATING ON IT
the best way to meditate on the Word is by asking questions To the text
you are reading. You can ask “What is this passage Teaching me?” How can I
apply to myself what I have just read? With what person Do I identify
myself?, What do you want to tell me with all this?.
What will also help you is for you to not only read the biblical passage, but
for you to become part of the story and ask the Holy Spirit to help you live
it (live what you read). This will give life to your reading, it will stop being
dead words and for sure it will help you pray with more confidence and
commitment.
C. WITH OBEDIENCE
The purpose of meditating on the Word is alive in
Joshua 1:8 when it says: “So that you may be careful to
do Everything that is written in it”
The objective is to learn obedience and that our heart be Sensitive enough
to do according to what God has indicated to us. The idea is not to receive
information, but that the Word can penetrate in our heart, that the Word
can influence our heart and for it to show in our daily life. James explains it
Like this:
James 1:22 “Do not merely listen to the word, and so
deceive yourselves. Do what it says.”
Stick to the Word and everyday when you stick to it, ask God to make your
heart a good ground, capable of receiving a Good seed and giving fruit thirty
fold, sixty fold and one hundred fold.
II. HOW TO STUDY THE WORD
When we get close to God, all of us long for him to speak to us in a personal
and direct way. It is almost unbelievable when we find out that He is
interested in us, since He loves us and longs for us.
When you study the Word of God, You must keep in mind fundamental
factors that play a very important role: The place, the environment, and the
time; therefore, keep in mind the following suggestions:

A BALANCED LIFE
One of the aspects that determines our future is knowing how to manage our
present, and for that it is very fundamental to establish our priorities and
that we believe the challenge of growing like Jesus did. Not only in one
aspect, but in all areas of life, this will surely make of us people of success,
we will attract others to us and we will be a positive influence in the circle
that we live in: family, social, laboral or ministerial.
Luke 2:52 “And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with
God and men.”
This verse reflects a Jesus that set an example and marked a way that we
should follow. It is amazing to see a Jesus that was not a conformist, but
always challenging, and never accepted being stagnant as a life style, but
continued daily to improve.
The word “growth” comes from the Greek “Prokopto” which means a
continued walk, in other words it means to progress, and the Lord Jesus did
it (grew) in the four basic aspects which are: 1. Intelectual Aspect,
2. Spiritual Aspect, 3. Physical Aspect, 4. Social Aspect.
I. INTELECTUAL ASPECT
The word says: “And Jesus grew in wisdom..”. Wisdom refers to the
intellectual aspect. It has to do with the development of the intellect,
challenging yourself to be wiser, studying, your career, ext. For example, at

mother, husband, wife.
God knows that only those people that leave negligence and laziness behind
can accomplish their purpose in life and can reach success, they can grow to
be better people. It is not enough to dream and to want to have, but in
order to accomplish it, it is necessary to act with diligence, consistency, and
discipline.
Proverbs 13:4 “The sluggard craves and gets nothing, but the desires
of the diligent are fully satisfied.”
The sluggard (lazy) person is always trying to justify his behavior, but as
time goes by, his progress ended up being only “good intentions” without any
fruit, and therefore he ends up frustrated and feeling insufficient.
Proverbs 26:16 “The sluggard is wiser in his own eyes than seven men
who answer discreetly”.
God does not want to see us frustrated, feeling that our lives are no good.
He gave us an example to grow, and to be better in all areas.
A good challenge so one will not fall on a trap of being lazy, is by setting up
clear and concrete goals. By doing this, will help us to give priority to the
really important matters and not to be tangled up with urgent things. “The
important thing” will get us close to our goal, “The urgent thing” is the
unexpected, and that deviates us from our goal.
In the intellectual aspect we must set specific goals that will bring us closer
to our objectives. For example: To read a book monthly or weekly; learn
systems or the basic studies to work with computers or to learn English, or
Spanish. We should challenge ourselves to be the head and not the tail, to
be the first and not the last, and that goes wherever you are, school,
college, university or work.
The stature refers to the physical aspect, we should always progress also in
the physical aspect. Our life style, our eating habits, nutrition and
recreation will exercise a direct influence in our image and the image we are
trying to project.
Excess in eating is seen when one consumes without limits sweets, salts,
chocolates, fats. We should establish new habits, we must verify if we are
eating healthy and be able to make corrections. You can start with small
challenges like not eating chocolates in one day, not drinking cokes for one
week, not to add extra salt on food, ext.
Our image reflects what we are and the God in whom we believe. In this
area Jesus was also an example to us. Though he was born on a humble
manger, He excelled and dressed the best clothes of his time,
John19:23-24 “When the soldiers crucified Jesus, they took his
clothes, dividing them into four shares, one for each of them, with the
undergarment remaining. This garment was seamless, woven in one piece
from top to bottom….”
In the physical aspect we should follow the Master and progress in the way
we live, we dress, we love, without making a god out of it, rather we should
give a testimony of what the Lord does with those that are faithful to Him.
“And Jesus grew…in favor with God and men”. Luke 2:52
One of the things that brings blessing and a realization is the growth in the
knowledge of God.
Matthew 6:33 “But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and
all these things will be given to you as well.”
Jesus grew in favor with God, and the result of that growth made it possible
for the power of God to manifest upon Him with the gifts of the Holy Spirit.
He had a very successful ministry and multitudes of people were
transformed, healed, delivered, and restored through His life.
That same Jesus lives now inside of us and in the measure that we grow in
his knowledge and grace, He will have the liberty to work through us
converting us in a channel of blessing.
The gifts flow when we create a need for them, God gives them to us so we
can serve his people and not to boast ourselves of them. In the same
measure in which we involve ourselves in the work of God, the Lord will pick
us up and pour his gifts upon our lives. The Apostle Paul says a great truth in
1st. Corinthians 15:58 “Therefore my dear brothers, stand firm. Let
nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord,
because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain”.
Paul teaches us how our work in the Lord is not in vain, and we should know
this and believe it, though at the present time we don’t see fruit, God knows
what we have done and He will reward us accordingly.
To have balanced lives is not going to the extremes and to give everything
its own place. The Lord knew how important people were, that is the reason
he was very interested in them, he met them and supplied their needs. All
these things gave Him favor with the people, they wanted to share with him,
they wanted to hear him, they wanted to be by his side and that is why they
followed him.
We should progress in our dealings with those that surround us, in such a
fashion that they may see in us people that are worth to follow and to
imitate. We speak much more with what we do than with what we say, a lot
of people are watching us, and if they find that we are simple people, that
have love, and warmth and that we live a good Christian life, they will open
the door of their hearts so that we can make them member of God’s family.
Prophet Samuel in his youth didn’t follow the bad example of the youth of
his age that shared the same house with him, he decided to be upright in his
life and God accepted him over the rest of the men of his time.
1st. Samuel 2:26 “And the boy Samuel continued to grow in stature and
in favor with the Lord and with men.”
One of the places in which we should take care of: Our testimony is at home,
this way we will progress in our relations with our family. At home, our
changes are more noticible since our family knows us, and they can tell the
progress and advancement of our spiritual life. We should set up simple
goals but effective ones.
For example, if we used to respond with a bad temper when something was
wrong, or when somebody mistreated us, we are going to change. There
should be a progress in our dealing with the rest of the people, in our
communication, in the unity, in the comprehension and in the fellowship.
We cannot allow that our goals in other areas take the place with our family,
deteriorating the family relationship, creating a distance or taking away
communion with them.
A certain young lady had a very big pain in her heart. Every time her dad
needed her, she didn’t have time for him because she always had other
priorities. She didn’t dedicate time for him and when she finally wanted to
do it, it was too late, her father passed away and she felt a pain in her heart
and felt impotent.
God wants us to have a balance in the dealings with our family, He wants us
to give them time and attention, and that we our love and testimony we can
win them over for the Lord. In the same way, our testimony reaches also our
relationship with third parties. Paul teaches to Timothy: 1st. Timothy 3:7
“He must also have a good reputation with outsiders, so that he will not
fall into disgrace and into the devil’s trap.”
A very determinant aspect to grow in the social area is integrity in our way
of living, this gives confidence to those around us, they will find out that our
purpose is not to take advantage of them, but rather to be a positive
influence in their lives.
There’s nothing worst than to lose credibility, which in turn causes doors to
close in our relation with others. We shouldn’t compromise with ethical and
moral principles that rule our life, those small concessions are a stain in our
character that instead of doing us good, it steers people away from us, they
stay on the defensive when they discover a deception, they feel used and not
valued.
They will see that it is possible to have a better life style when we follow
the Lord, this will give them the opportunity to go to God and enjoy the
blessing that we have to know the Lord and they will allow him to guide their
lives.

It is a Great blessing to know God, but to see him work in each of the areas
of our lives really depends a lot of times on the decisions we make in
different situations.
We have a great advantage and that is that we can count on the direction of
our All Powerful God, who is with us to show us the path that we should walk.
God never makes mistakes, He knows better than us, He knows what’s best
and He is willing to give us His best.
Proverbs 3:5-7
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own
understanding, in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your
paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and
shun evil.”
All the wrong decisions that without exceptions, we all have made are a
product of doing things our own way, without taking God into consideration
for his advise. This usually happens because we don’t know that he is
interested even in the small things that concern us. We believe the bible
does not have the answer to our needs or simply, we have not stopped to
think what is God’s opinion about our decision.
If we want to act wisely and have a good future let us stop acting lightly,
since that is the reason that a lot of times we make decisions that we are
sorry later on. That is why we should go to God and seek his direction, He
never makes mistakes and always chooses to give us good things, He loves us
and has good thoughts about us and not to harm us, He wants to give us the
happiness that we have dreamed of.
Jeremiah 29:11
“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to
prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
To believe in God and trust in Him is the best thing we can do in order to
secure our future. God is like a pilot that sees from above the things that
are good for us and those that will only bring us problems. If we seek his
council and obey what He says, we are acting with wisdom.
Romans 12:2
“Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed
by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve
what God’s will is, His good, pleasing and perfect will.”
This verse (Romans 12:2) expresses three great truths about God’s will: It
is Good, it is Pleasing, and it is Perfect.
The word “good” comes from the Greek Agathos, which means something
that is good in its character, it is beneficial in its effects. It is Good
because it comes from a God whose essence is Goodness and His objective is
to give us the best so that we can enjoy the life that Christ conquered for
us on the cross to its fullest.
Some people fear having to submit their sentimental area to God, they think
that God will probably give them the opposite of their desires, they think
that God ignores their needs. For example, there’s men that don’t like
talkative ladies and they fear that God will give them a parrot (loquacious
woman), “a woman that talks toooo much”.
There’s women that are not drawn to men that are cold and insensitive to
their needs and they are fearful that God will give them one that will never
express his feelings.
“Perfect” comes from the Greek Telion which means equipping us to realize
the real purpose of our existence. Therefore, Beacon’s commentary states
it is the experience
of fulfillment to be complete. With this we can understand that by doing
God’s will we will develop our maximum potential and we will be fulfilled.
Isaiah 55:8-9 “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are
your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. As the Heavens are higher
than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts
than your thoughts.”
We need to die to the desires of doing things our way in order to submit to
God’s will. He will give us what’s best, though this may not necessarily be
what we want.
We should trust in His will and understand that His decisions are much
better than ours, He will always give us excellence for our lives.
The bible has the answer to each and every one of our Needs, it could be
economical, sentimental, university, Family, ext.
We should come to the Word of God to seek what it says in respect to our
petition or need. If what we are asking for is within God’s will, the word will
confirm it. If you don’t know how to know God’s direction ask God for
wisdom and He will give you abundantly without reproach. James 1:5
“If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to
all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.”
Search for bible verses according to your need, God Will take care of
speaking to your heart, since the Word has the quality of getting to the
most intimacy of man, discerning the thoughts and the intentions of the
Heart. Hebrews 4:12
Some years ago, we had not gotten an apartment, I started to look for one
very persistently and God gave me ”Psalms 127:1-2 “Unless the Lord builds
the house, its builders labor in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city,
the watchmen stand guard in Vain. It is in vain for you to rise up early and
stay up ate, to eat the bread of sorrows; for so He gives His beloved sleep.”
it. He simply sent a person to us that took us to the right place, and the
Lord did the Rest.
One of the aspects that will confirm if we are moving according to God’s
purpose, is that He will incline our heart to His desire, because he loves us,
as the word says “He does it according to his good purpose”
“But the plans of the Lord stand firm forever, The Purposes of his
heart through all generations.”
Philippians 4:7
“And the Peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard
your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus”
One of the signs that we can trust to know if we are in the will of God is the
peace that He brings to the heart. It is an internal peace in regards to the
decision that we are about to make that surpasses our own understanding.
God puts that peace in our hearts, He removes all doubt, and brings trust
and assurance. This trust cannot be based on good reasoning, we can show a
make-believe assurance, but we cannot shut that voice inside of us that says:
No, don’t do it. That Is God’s voice telling us that the way we were thinking
is not His will.
In this case, the most recommendable thing is to seek God in prayer and
sincerely tell Him the secrets of your heart, asking Him that if it is not His
will to block all plans; but if it is, for Him to affirm our thoughts.
There are people that pray time after time for a sentimental relationship
with a non-Christian person for God to do His will. Nevertheless, when God
speaks to their heart, they start doubting, and fearing; and the peace they
had about their future with that person is gone. Even though they know that
God is not in agreement with that relationship, they don’t obey. They always
have an excuse, a justification, a later, a last opportunity; but when the
established time for the last opportunity comes, they postpone the decision
again, without knowing that they are wasting their life in a relationship that
will not give fruit. Sometimes people are stubborn and when they realize
their mistake, it is too late.
Proverbs 16:3
“Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and your plans will succeed.”
This is the result of seeking God. The Holy Spirit will work by reaching the
depths of the heart and will put an internal feeling of confirmation or of
denial; a deep conviction of His perfect will, a sensation of peace that
surpasses his understanding.
When we move according to God’s will, we will see that circumstances will
favor us, if not circumstances will be adverse and difficult.
The bible states a very specific case about moving against God’s will, the
case of Balaam. He wanted to go and curse Israel, he consulted God and God
answered
“Do not go with them. You must not put a curse on those people,
because they are blessed.” Numbers 22:12
Nevertheless, Balaam’s greed was greater than his obedience, and he ended
up going to that place to Curse Israel. God opposed in such a way, that He
used a donkey to make Balaam come to his senses, the donkey resisted and
did not walk and even spoke to him, God changed the curse into a blessing
three times.
Definitely, we must recognize when God is not in the plan by analyzing each
situation and the circumstances. If we see that things don’t work out and
something always happens, the wisest thing is not to fight against it, but to
renounce to that thing and wait upon the Lord, and without doubt, the Lord
will always bring something better.
I am convinced that if you follow these five steps, you will secure your
future. Since you will have the direction of the wisest being of the universe.
He sees everything and wants the best for your life in all aspects.
