"JOSE RIZAL: SA LANDAS NG PAGLAYA"

The film has deeply presented the essence of the very heroic and nationalistic Jose
Rizal in defiance of the Spanish colonization. I think of this film, is that it also serves as
awareness, that every Filipinos must be able to get to know the life and works Jose
Rizal profoundly in order to supplement the sense of nationalism and patriotism for the
country that would likely benefit the Filipinos and the Philippines as well for the
betterment and progressive country in the future being united as one.

Sa Landas ng Paglaya exhibited the struggles of Jose Rizal having the kind of ideology
he has seemingly concocted while studying abroad. It is seen that while he was abroad,
he had missed his family quite often and would feel sad for his brother, Paciano. He
knows his brother has suffered a lot for him to continue with his studies. Midway into his
stay, he had thought about how the Philippines should be a free country and has
exhibited this ideology in his works. This ultimately led the Spanish government to see
him as a threat that would stop him from coming back to the Philippines. He has seen
how his works made his family struggle and how his family was robbed of what was
truly theirs. Despite this, Rizal has chosen to go back to his motherland and fight the
battle where the battle should actually be.

The freedom we experience today, we owe it all to our heroes who fought for our
motherland, either by weapons or by pen. due to this movie, I did recognize the bravery
of the those who gave their last breath with Philippine Independence in their minds. I
learned most about the past and its importance to our situation today. We might not be
under any colonization now, but most folks are forgetting who we actually are and what
are we capable of. We are forgetting that we are Filipinos. I hope that it's not only me
whose patriotism and nationalism were revived by watching the movie. I hope that Rizal
can still inspire us to strive hard and finish our studies and to be educated by any
means, either rich or poor. Because the more you recognize, the more you're equipped
with knowledge that may defend you and even your country someday.
