I agree about "Different culture, Different personality" because the development
and formation of personality in each person cannot be separated from the culture of the
society in which a person is raised. There are four aspects of culture that influence
personality.
First, values, in every culture there are values of life that are upheld by the people in it
who live in that culture. So, to be accepted as members of a society, we must adapt
ourselves to the culture prevailing in that society. So, our personality is indirectly
influenced by the values in which we live. For example, in a country that upholds
discipline in Japan or in the Middle East, which upholds modesty in dress.
Second, the customs and traditions that apply in an area determine how we act and
behave which will have an impact on our personality, for example, like the mutual
cooperation tradition in Indonesian society, making us a person who often helps others.
Third, language, because language is a communication tool and a thinking tool that can
show how someone behaves, acts and reacts and gets along with other people. For
example, Batak language tends to be "assertive" or Sundanese language which is
"gentle".
Fourth, material property, the more advanced the culture of a society or nation, the more
advanced and modern the tools are used for their daily needs. So, those three things that
without realizing it turn out to influence the formation of our personality. For example,
people in western countries have more open-mindedness than people in the Northeast
country because technological advances in western countries can change the mindset of
the people there.
