Case Study:

You are a marketing manager at ZEE Gamers, a development company that makes mobile
videos games. ZEE is preparing to launch a new video game but would like to gain some
insights into consumer behaviors first in order to ensure that the marketing campaign fits
with mobile gamers. A research agency has provided you with list of factors that tend to
influence consumer behavior for mobile video game:

Factors

• Gamers often try games that are ranked as the top new releases on various gamer
forums
• Gamers typically enjoy playing on their phones when they have high dopamine
levels.
• Gamers tend to enjoy the interaction with each other about strategies and tactics
(e.g. forums)
• Gamers tend to be 70% male.

• Gamers opt to play more games when they feel bored

• Gamers tend to be within the 10-25 Years old age group

• Gamers are more likely to try a new game if it is introduced by a person that they
regard favorably.

1. Using the list of influencing factors provided, categorized each factor as being either Social,
Personal, or Psychological.

Social:

Personal:

2. Seeing that ZEE has many loyal customers and has launched many games, which study
method do you believe will result in the most efficient gathering of information on its
customer base?

Answer:

Questionnaires and surveys: Asking direct questions to your consumers is possibly one of the
most common and successful data collection methods. Social media surveys are undoubtedly
quick and simple for responders. They generally contain a restricted number of answers to
pick from, along with a few open questions.
