C. Define the following:


1. Habitat
Ans: The surrounding in which an animal lives is its habitat. Land, water and air are
different habitats.

2. Herbivores
Ans: Animals that eat plants are called herbivores.
Ex: cow, goat, deer, giraffe, elephant etc

3. Carnivores
Ans: Animals that eat the flesh of other animals are called carnivores.
Ex: tiger, lion, leopard, wolf etc

4. Omnivores
Ans: Animals that eat both plants and flesh of other animals are called omnivores.
Ex: human beings, crow, bear etc

5. Migration
Ans: Migration is the mass movement of animals from one place to another and
back.

G. Answer the following questions:


1. How do fish and frog move in water?
Ans: Fish move with the help of their fins.
Frogs move with the help of webbed feet in water.
2. Why do animals need to move?
Ans: Animas need to move from one place to another place,
 in search of food and water
 to build their homes
 to protect themselves from enemies or from harsh weather conditions

3. How do snakes move?


Ans: Snakes move by crawling on the ground with the help of scales.

4. How does an insect breathe?


Ans: Insect breathes through spiracles.

5. How does locusts’ migration affect farmers?


Ans: The locust is the most dangerous of migratory insects. Huge swarms of locusts
spread across farm lands and cause heavy damage to crops.
