LU series
VERTICAL LIQUID
COLUMN MANOMETERS

Pressure / Depression

KEY POINTS

The LU range of vertical liquid column manometers, developed and manufactured by KIMO,
are mainly for measuring variations of pressure, depression or differential pressure of air or
gas within measurement ranges which vary according to the type of manometric liquid used :
AWS 10, VOLT 1S or MERCURY.
(See table below)

● ''U''-shaped column for measuring consecutively positive and negative pressures

● Measurement by addition of values read on each column

Zero adjustment by moving the slide strip
● For fixed use regardless of the manometric liquid used
● For portable use with the LU model using VOLT 1S liquid
●Supplied with a white PVC support, 2 screws and 2 rawlplugs, two 487 connectors
and bottle of liquid

LIFTING POINT
WARNINGS AND ORIGINAL INSTRUCTIONS
WARNING
 Loads may slip or fall if proper Lifting Point assembly and lifting procedures are not used.
 A falling load may cause serious injury or death.
 Install Lifting Point bolt to torque requirements listed in tables 1 for the 8-211 respectively.
 Read, understand and follow all instructions and chart information.
 Do not use with damaged slings, chain, or webbing. For inspection criteria see ASME B30.9.
 Use only YOKE parts as replacements.
Lifting Point Application Assembly Safety
 After determining the loads on each Lifting Point, select the proper size Lifting Point using the Working Load Limit ratings in
Table 1.
 Drill and tap the work piece to the correct size to a minimum depth of one-half the threaded shank diameter plus the threaded
shank length. See rated load limit and bolt torque requirements imprinted on top of the swivel trunnion (see Table 1).
 Install Lifting Point to recommended torque with a torque wrench making sure the bushing flange meets the load (work piece)
surface.
 Never use spacers between bushing flange and mounting surface.
 Always select proper load rated lifting device for use with Swivel Lifting Point.
 Attach lifting device ensuring free fit to Lifting Point bail (lifting ring) (Fig. 1).
 Apply partial load and check proper rotation and alignment. There should be no interference between load (work piece) and
hoist ring bail (Fig. 2).

Figure 1 Figure 2
Lifting Point Inspection / Maintenance
 Always inspect Lifting Point before use.
 Regularly inspect Lifting Point parts (Fig.3).

External Inspection Points A suitable direction

for the stress
Possible Wear

Free Movement

Thread Damage 。
360 Rotation

Figure 3 Figure 4 Figure 5

 Never use Lifting Point that shows signs of corrosion, wear or damage.
 Never use Lifting Point if bail is bent or elongated.
 Always be sure threads on shank and receiving hole are clean, not damaged, and fit properly.
 Always check with torque wrench before using an already installed Lifting Point.
 Always make sure there are no spacers (washers) used between bushing flange and the mounting surface. Remove any
spacers (washers) before use.
 Always ensure free movement of bail. The bail should pivot 90 degrees and swivel 360 degrees (Fig. 4)(Fig.5).
 Always be sure total work piece surface is in contact with Lifting Point bushing mating surface. Drilled and tapped hole must be
90 degrees to load (work piece) surface.

Operating Safety
 Never exceed the capacity of the swivel Lifting Point, see Tables 2.
 When using lifting slings of two or more legs, make sure the forces in the legs are calculated using the angle from the horizontal
sling angle to the leg and select the proper size swivel Lifting Point to allow for the angular forces, see Tables 1.
 Effects of temperature:
 Due to the DIN/EN bolts that are used with the Lifting Point, the working load limit must be reduced accordingly:
-40° to 200°C no reduction -40°F to 392°F
200° to 300°C Minus 10% 392°F to 572°F
300° to 400°C Minus 25% 572°F to 752°F
★ Temperature above 400°C(752°F) are not permitted.

Entsorgung

disposal
The silencer must be disposed of in accordance with the regulations of the country
concerned. It must be checked whether the silencer can be disposed of as scrap
metal at scrap yards.

If this is not the case or if it is necessary to dispose of the scrap as pure scrap, the
silencer must be opened and separated from the mineral wool. This work must be
done with protective clothing and protective mask, as it may cause the application of
small glass wool mineral wool particles
