Polnts noted during various CRS inspections for opening of Doubing/3 Line projects. 1. Civil tems: 2) Gas cut Check Rails at LCs have been used instead of standard Check Rails having machined flare ends. 'b) L-sections of LCs need to be plotted indicating location of road sign boards. All items like approach slope, gate posts etc. should be as per standards. ©) Curtain/drop walls have been founded at the same level as wing/return wall which otherwise should be 50cm below the foundation of wing/return wall. 4) Squaring and correct spacing of sleepers at all AT Welds (5 Nos. sleepers at each weld) should be done. €) Major/ Minor Bridges Flooring and curtain/drop wall is essential. Pitching should be done as per IRICEN circular. £) Many FOBs have been constructed without CRS prior sanction violating the provisions of IRPWM and Railways (Opening for Public Carriage of Passengers) rules, 2000. 8) It is noted that all the bridges are being extended by RCC boxes even in multiple spans which is now banned by Board. h) Platform shelter ~ RVNL may adopt single column design of platform shelter as used in Habibganj station. ’) Check list of P Way, Bridge Items, S&T items etc. was not available. 4) At few locations, earth has been cut from the embankment toe. This should be filled Up with good earth. Cess width should be as per latest SOD (7.85M). 4) Formation at all major bridge approaches should be in accordance to R-50 Report of RDSO. )_ NDT test on concrete bridges should be done and report be prepared. m) There should be no LC in yard. RVNL should plan for LHS based on rectangular TBM as has been done by AFCON. Other alternatives can be steel plate duly strengthened at both end by I- girder. 'n} Length of cross over and turn outs should be made standard as per theoretical calculations. 0} Plotting of L section and alignment on Ao sheet for each yard should be done. P) Precast slab used to cover cable duct in different S&T rooms should be high strength concrete and be placed in a systematic manner. 4) The formation width is still being adopted for embankment as 6.85m and for cutting ls 6.25m. As per LWR manual, the specified formation width for laying of LWR is 7.85m for embankment as well as cutting. Railway Administration is to take decision (on the issue and if formation width is to be retained as constructed. Railway Bd’s approval for the deviation should be obtained. 1) The 3rd lines are also being constructed at track centres as per old standards. The track centers should be adopted not less than 7.8m.
