Synopsis: The context of human resource management in this course includes
human resource management and strategic human resource
management, recruitment and placement, training and development,
compensation and employee relations, and safety and health law which
contributes to organizational success and employee well-being.

Outcomes 1. Discuss the involvement of human resource management in strategic

2. Evaluate the various aspects of human resource management in the
organisation

The written report is to be prepared on a group basis. Each group (consisting of 5


members from the same tutorial group) is required to select ONE TOPIC. Students
are required to register their chosen topic and company/institution with their
respective tutor by the end of Week 1. Students need to choose a different
company/institution from each tutorial class. If there is a case of two students or more in
the same tutorial class selecting the same topic, the decision will be based on the first
come first serve basis. Overall, the written report should reflect the individual’s
thoughts and analysis rather than the work of others.
