Noxious Weed Alert

Creeping Bellflower (Camanula rapunculoides) is a tricky kind of weed. It's
pretty and looks harmless but its dense root systems make it difficult to control
once it's established. The Alberta Weed Control Act lists it as a noxious weed -
meaning that property owners are required to control the spread of the plant.
The Town controls Creeping Bellflower on our properties through hand-pulling
and mowing. You can control the spread of this weed on your property through
similar measures, too.
Our friends at Wheatland County created a handy 'Identification Guide for
Alberta Invasive Plants'. It helps to identify all of the weeds in the Alberta Weed
Control Act - you can download a copy at:
aaaf.ab.ca/uploads/pdf/Weed_ID_Guide_2017.pdf
Thank you to the residents who have contacted us about invasive weeds. If you'd
like to volunteer to help keep weeds out of Strathmore's parks you can learn
more about our Adopt-a-Park programat::
