Congratulations on your interest in joining a group of Brothers and Sisters who have banded together 
for over 50 years.

Attached is the application for membership to the Marine Corps League’s, Pvt. Charles J Shutt 
Detachment.   

You may mail or hand deliver the attached application form (you will need to print the application out to 
fill it in) to the Pvt. Shutt Detachment.  The best method to expedite the process would be to have an 
original or copy of your DD214, along with your filled out application, for presentation to the 
Detachment’s membership officer.  If mailed please include contact info – i.e. cell phone, home phone, 
email etc., to make arrangements – do not mail a SSN, present it on request.  

It’s an easy process.  There’s no need to prolong your membership. 

 If you do not have or can’t find your DD214, when you apply as a full member, a copy can be sent to you 
directly from the governments archive system.  A link to the website is on http://shuttdetachment.org 
or can you can go directly to http://www.archives.gov/veterans/evetrecs/index.html .
