I. OBJECTIVES
A. Content The learners demonstrate an understanding of the legal, ethical, and societal issues in the use of
Standards media and information.
B. Performance The learners shall be able to conduct a case study on an offense, investigation, or decision pertaining
Standads to any of the media and information issues within their community.
II. CONTENT

Gr. 5 – Overall implication of media and information to the society on social aspect.
Gr. 6 – Overall implication of media and information to the society on political aspect.

(Note: Please make the necessary adjustment if you have more groups.)
E. ACTIVITY PROPER
Class Activity
Brainstorming Session
• Each group will create a graphic organizer (brainstorming web or cerebral chart) on a long
bond paper to record their output. To be submitted at the end of the activity. (approx. 30 mins.)
Suggestions:
Instruct students prior to this meeting to bring ruler, colored pens, and a bond paper which will be used
for the graphic organizer in this activity.
You can grade this activity as a written output.
F. DEEPENING
What are the implication of media and information to an individual (personal, professional, educational,
and others) and the society as a whole (economic, social, political, educational, and others).
G. POST-ACTIVITY
Presentation of Output in their Brainstorming Session.
• Students will think and prepare a creative way on how they can communicate their output to
the class. Use of technology and other medium like the blackboard is not allowed. They will be
the medium of their message.
• Group Presentation. 3- 5 minutes will be given per group for class presentation.
• Students can talk, sing, etc. Anything that is not part of their body is not allowed to be used in
the presentation. Emphasized at the end of this lesson that we have discussed about media
last time as communication tools like television, radio, newspaper, and the internet as media
but we will learn that people itself is also a form of Media. This is the lesson next meeting.
H. APPLICATION A media literate person can decode, evaluate, analyze and produce both print and electronic media.
The fundamental objective of media literacy is critical autonomy relationship to all media. Emphases in
media literacy training range widely, including informed citizenship, aesthetic appreciation and
expression, social advocacy, self-esteem, and consumer competence.
