What is your product idea?

The product would be a relatively small humidifier/aromatiser with a wooden texture/color


scheme and LED lighting that can be placed at a working desk, near plants or sleeping bed
etc. – in general everywhere. An example of the product follows (on AliExpress: “300ml

Describe in a few sentences what your branding idea will be.

Basically, people living in climates with low humidity, especially those that are outside or
near the boundaries of the suggested humidity levels. We will target people which may
encounter drier skin or people who care about their skin and they want a tight good looking
skin. People with sleeping problems (might include babies/mothers), nasal difficulties (sinus
congestion) and people with allergies or people who are interested in some form of
relaxation (e.g. spa), LED lighting, wooden objects, indoor plants. Also, people interesting in
their health might generally be a good target market (health, gym, healthy eating,
clothing/styling).

Note that we did not manage to find a successful shop for this exact product, but demand
for similar products (humidiers/aromatisers) with different looks seems to exist given the 2
submitted competitor examples. Also, AliExpress orders/reviews on this exact product are
considerably high (the top 2 selling stores have 6500 orders with 3100 reviews and 11600
orders with 5300 reviews), which shows that there is a market for it, but also might indicate
that this was an older hot Shopify product.

How will you differentiate yourself or improve over your competitors/what's


currently available on the market? 

Except from creating our own brand name (as taught in the course - fast 1-3 day shipping,
custom packaging, brand name on products {possibly below the product on the transparent
plastic surface to not mess the aesthetic of the product}, etc.) when the product demand is
confirmed, we would try to improve the product by making it more portable by
incorporating a battery on it (base model has only wired functionality), improve the LED
functioning with even more modes/colors (+ rainbow effect) and the different operation
modes (e.g. intensity levels) of producing the mist/humidity. These functionalities could be
connected to a wireless controller to allow for remote control of the device. Include liquid
and power saving mode. Also, instead of using plastic looking like wood, we could use actual
wood with a cover of plastic inside to keep the liquids inside at place. Disable the mist and
utilize the device as a night light or decorating object. Make the mist visible/colorful with the
use of LED. Maybe use some non-harmful liquid to make the mis persist in the environment
(for some cool shots/videos). Control the temperature of the mist (might not have a
substantial effect as device is pretty small, maybe more feasible in a larger size).

What future products could you launch that would help you build your brand? 

Additional products could include other humidifiers/aromatisers (different ones or larger


sizes {bigger liquid tank} of the best selling ones – if they aesthetically make sense) as well as
accessories, like essential oils or cases, and spare parts, like cotton filters, power/charging
cables or even batteries.
