Emotional intelligence is a set of skills that are thought to contribute to the appraisal of
emotions in oneself and others. It can also help contribute to the effective regulation of
emotions as well as feelings (Salovey & Mayer, 1990). In terms of emotional intelligence,
self-awareness and self-management have to do with our ability to relate to ourselves. Social
awareness and relationship management have to do with our ability to relate to others.
Similarly, the ability to solve questions on Analytical Reasoning and Data Sufficiency is a critical
area tested in almost all competitive examinations and admission tests .

Upon completion, students should be able:

1. To deal with their own emotions as well as the emotions of others and relate better with
both.
2. To use knowledge of EI to set meaningful goals.

3. To choose suitable time management techniques that work best for them and work in teams
more effectively.

4. To apply different concepts, ideas and methods to solve questions in Reasoning and Data
Sufficiency.
