Strength test: 1,3 x rated pressure (standard) *) Max. test pressure = working pressure x 1,5 / 1,1
Leak test: 1 x rated pressure (standard).

The determination of the max. pressures has been carried out in ac-
cordance with the strength factors specified in the relevant materials
standards and accepted rules of engineering practice.

Pressure relief valve

See type sheet 7300.1 Pressure relief valve
A pressure relief valve is necessary if, with the gate valve closed, there
is a danger of trapped liquid becoming overheated, thus creating an
unacceptable pressure increase inside the valve. A warning plate is
fixed to the arm of the yoke close to the nameplate.

All gate valves with pressure-seal bonnet are factory-fitted with a

closed connecting branch (part no.131.2) with connecting dimensions
ø22/ø14.1 (suitable for pipe ø21.3 x 3.6).

When ordering, please state whether a pressure relief valve is to be

provided, or whether excess pressures are to be released via a by-
pass or a relief hole upstream of seat ring (515). In those cases, the
gate valves can be used only for one direction.
Pipe *) (710) Insulation
CAUTION: Body (100)
The pressure relief valve must not be welded directly to the Pipe coupling (731)
connecting branch (part 131.2), but must be connected to it via an Connecting branch (131.2)
interconnection pipe (part 710) vertically upward and outside the
insulation. The minimum distance to the insulation is 200 mm. *) The pipe (710) between the connecting branch (131.2) and the pressure
relief valve is not included in our scope of supply.

When connecting to a pipe (710), cut Connecting

here and bevel the face to obtain a branch (131.2)

Bypass
When exceeding the pressure difference specified below between the working pressure upstream and the back pressure downstream of the valve,
the gate valves must be provided with a bypass. If a bypass is necessary or desirable for other reasons, a NORI-A globe valve as per type sheet
7642.1 should be used for the standard design, i. e. DN 15 (up to 150 mm gate valve seat diameter) or DN 25 (from 175 mm gate valve seat diameter
onwards.) (Larger nom. sizes on request).
