LETTER OF TRANSMITTAL
JULY, 2021
We are pleased to submit to you the basic design study report on the Project for
Construction of Twin SHS building inside the University of NDU, Cotabato City.
This study was conducted by the group A, during the online OJT; July 5 to August
2. In conducting the study, we have examined the standard design of the school
projectswith due consideration to the present references under DPWH that
formulated the mostappropriate design.
Finally, we hope that this report will contribute to further promotion of the
project.
Very truly yours,

PROPOSAL SUMMARY

PROBLEM STATEMENT
Classroom is one of the most important factors affecting student
learning. Simply put, students learn better when they view the learning
environment as positive, supportive and they mainly engage some of
their appropriate levels of students. Since there are many students that
don’t fit the SHS classrooms inside Carino Building that results some
senior high school students having their classrooms inside Burke
Building, what we will propose is to project both grade 11 and 12
student’s classroom in Buldoc Building area so that they can no longer
separated in their friends and no longer having a classroom inside Burke.

This project seeks to support the development of the Notre Dame
University regarding to their K-12 program and to enhance their
sustainability regarding SHS academic performances.
The project seeks to improve the isolation and privacy of SHS students,
so that they can manage some of their programs; sports and academic

NATURAL CONDITIONS
Temperature
Based on the average of all weather stations in the Philippines,
excluding Baguio, the mean annual temperature is 26.6o C. The coolest
months fall in January with a mean temperature of 25.5oC while the
warmest month occurs in May with a mean temperature of 28.3oC.
Latitude is an insignificant factor in the variation of temperature while
altitude shows greater contrast in temperature. Thus, the mean annual
temperature of Baguio with an elevation of 1,500 meters is 18.3oC. This
makes the temperature of Baguio comparable with those in the
temperate climate and because of this, it is known as the summer capital
of the Philippines.
Humidity
Humidity refers to the moisture content of the atmosphere. Due to high
temperature and the surrounding bodies of water, the Philippines has a
high relative humidity. The average monthly relative humidty varies
between 71 percent in March and 85 percent in September. The

Rainfall
Rainfall is the most important climatic element in the Philippines.
Rainfall distribution throughout the country varies from one region to
another, depending upon the direction of the moisture-bearing winds and
the location of the mountain systems.
The mean annual rainfall of the Philippines varies from 965 to 4,064
millimeters annually. Baguio City, eastern Samar, and eastern Surigao
receive the greatest amount of rainfall while the southern portion of
Cotabato receives the least amount of rain. At General Santos City in
Cotabato, the average annual rainfall is only 978 millimeters.
