1.Find the first four raw moments, central moments & values of &  for the data
given below:
60, 60, 61, 62, 63, 64, 65, 64, 70, 63

2.Calculate the first four moments about the mean for the following frequency
distribution. Also compute &  & comment on the nature of the distribution.
x: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9
f: 1 6 8 25 30 17 9 2 2

3.From the following distribution of percentage of dividend declared by 50 companies, find a) Absolute measures of
skewness. b) Karl Pearson’s & Bowley’s coefficients of skewness. c) Pearsonian measures of skewness & kurtosis.
Percentage 5-10 10-15 15-20 20-25 25-30 30-35
Companies 06 06 15 10 09 04

4.The first four moments of a distribution about the value 4 are –1.5, 17, -30 & 108. Find
the mean, variance & coefficients of skewness & kurtosis.

5.For a certain distribution, the mean is 10, variance is 16, is 1 &  is 4. Obtain the
first four moments about zero. Also find moments about i) mean ii) the point X = 2.

6.The first four raw moments about origin of a certain distribution are –0.39, 8.91, -13.23
& 294.03. Find the first four central moments, Comment on the results.
