Background:

After surveying people we know and contacting our family and friends, we got to know about this man
named Sikander who is the only bread earner of the house of five and lost his job a year ago. He was
previously working in a barber shop owned by someone else but due to covid crisis, the owner closed his
shop and Mr Sikander lost his job and couldn't find another. He is not educated as well. Since then he
has no permanent work and earns on day to day basis by going door to door to provide services
whenever someone calls him.

Financial Responsibilities:

Mr Sikander needs to earn in order to feed his wife and three little kids. He has to manage all household
expenses on his own as no other family member can do so since his wife uneducated and kids are too
young to work.

Household characteristics:

This family lives in small Hogan house in Gulshan e Hadeed

Potential skills:

Since Mr Sikander is working in barber shop for last 12 years his basis and strong skill is same. He has
expertise in hair cutting grooming services and has capability to run a salon on his own.

Job history and other experiences:

Mr Sikander has-been working in different barber shops for last 12 years and has not been involved in
any other occupation.

Proposed business feasibility:

We asked Mr Sikander regarding our project and together we proposed idea of opening a small barber
shop at Gulshan e Hadeed. Reason for specifying the area is based on three important factors. One, it
would be easy for Mr Sikander to travel from home to work and back so it will eliminate traveling
expense. Second, since he was previously working in a salon at Hadeed, so people there know him and it
would be easy for him to retain customers there. Finally, since shops at Hadeed are relatively lower in
price, so it would we easy for us to manage funds within the allocated time period.

How much funds should be needed to complete this project?

Total estimate of 1.25- 1.5 Lacs would be needed that will include shop deposit, current rent,
equipment, furniture and initial operating expenses
Plans to raise funds:

We have planned to first reach out our friends and families for donations. We'll be posting on social
media and WhatsApp groups including the ones of our family, friends, university as well as our work
place.

Plus, since the allocated time span will include the holy month of Ramadan there are great chances of
receiving Zakat and Sadqas too.
