B. SUMMARY
Swaibu is a systematic and meticulous individual who is result oriented and keen on time
management. He is for team work while very practical and treasures participatory approach.
He is not temperamental. He has taught at secondary and tertiary levels, while acting in key
position, like being academic registrar.

H. SELECTION CONTRIBUTIONS IN THE COLLEGE

1. College forest. Oversaw planting over 15ha of the college forest while working as
academic registrar.
2. College prospectus. Introduced the ides made it go through by typing it.
3. Guideline for selecting and preparing research and survey reports. These are used
by the diploma students to write special project reports.
4. Examination rules and regulation for students. Introduced the idea and produced a
sample for use.
5. Examination rules and regulations for invigilators. Introduced the idea and
produced a sample for use.
6. Form for evaluation of teaching by students. Introduced the idea and produced a
sample for use.
7. Academic registrar in charge of practical training. It was my idea, later became a
full academic registrar.
8. Top-up to teaching staff. Top up to teaching staff tagged on number of private
students was coined by me.
9. Patriotism in the college. Patriotism was introduced by me in the college and was
done by me as a volunteer.

I. ADMINISTRATION PROFESSIONAL AMBITIONS

Below are my wishful interests about Nyabyeya Forestry College, as an administrator in the
office of the academic registrar, together with the principle of the college.

1. Students’ recruitment- To encourage students’ enrolment into less attractive courses like
bee keeping and biomass.
2. Staff recruitment and development-To work with ministries of Water and environment.
3. Academic programs-Improve practical training of students. Students are to get more
practical skills, books, internet, outreach programs, project and vocational studies.
Further, student’s attitudes towards work will be improved.
4. Security of the college facilities and person. Security for the buildings, facilities,
installations, furniture and personal shall be improved.
5. Students’ welfare- Asbestos roof and louvers on classes and dormitories should be
replaced, more landscaping and walkways, sanitation, hygiene, drying lines, waste
dispels to be done.
6. Water harvesting. Increase water harvesting. Nyabyeya diesel water pump to use electricy
and diesel pump remains for emergency.
7. Income generation. To improve on income generating in tree growing, agro forestry,
beekeeping and biomass units.

8. Infrastructure development- To develop for new and improvement of existing

infrastructures.
9. Strategic plans and annual work plans. Strategic plans and annual work plans for the
college to be enacted and implemented or improved.
10. Public relations. Within staff, students, the neighbouring communities, the line ministry
and governing agencies, local government, CBOs etc.
11. Collaboration with sister institutions- Makerere, NaFORRI, NFA, DFS, ANAFE and
