2.2. In this activity you are required to develop and prepare a quality management plan and quality metrics based on the customer
relationship strategy and the measurements of performance of all departments of the Business Case.
When preparing the quality management plan and metrics, you must address and use the following points:
a) Development of quality metrics:
- Quality metrics must include details for the project and product output to define acceptable levels of quality
- Gauge how effectiveness of the quality management of the project at later stages
- include time, cost, resources, scope, quality, and action items in the quality metrics
- Indicate how the project quality metrics will be measured
b) Quality criteria (framework for working towards achieving quality requirements)
- Australian and international standards
- Codes of conduct
- Legislation and regulation requirements.
c) Identify the quality issues in the project given in the business case.
d) Resolve these quality issues using the following quality management methods, techniques and tools:
- Control charts
- Brainstorming
- Continuous improvement process
e) List of agreed quality and performance requirements (as determined in part 2 of this assessment task) in the project
management plan and implement these quality requirements as basis for performance measurement.

3.2. Assess quality and identify causes of variance. You are now required to assess the quality of the project considering the
current scenario/problems and identify the variations to quality metrics of the project and document: (Guide: 100+ words)

b) Collect feedback from your Director. You must either complete Communication Report (if you held a meeting) or
copy and paste the Director’s email with his approval using the space below. (Guide: 50+ words)
Note: if you are conducting a meeting, use the communication report template used in a previous assessment task.
c) Once the approval was received from CCB, prepare a project life cycle document and specify how these changes will
be implemented at all stages of the project life cycle. (Guide: 30+ words for each)

4.2. Coaching and mentoring activity
Please note: oral communication and team work is a mandatory part of the unit: Manage project quality and coaching is a
mandatory part of the unit: Facilitate continuous improvement. These skills are requirements set by the Australian
government and must be demonstrated and observed by your assessor who will complete an observation checklist. Skills
you must demonstrate include:
b) Contact the team leader and the new team member (your colleagues) and conduct the coaching session/s.
You will be observed by your assessor who will complete a checklist.
You may choose to use MS TEAMS and record your coaching activities and upload as directed by assessor, or you may choose
to organise this coaching at the academy, face to face. To successfully complete this activity, you must:
- Present information to a using appropriate structure and language
- Listen and ensure that you understand information received from your team leader and the new team member
- Ensure that the Team leader and the new team member understand what is expected of them
- Team leader and the new team member must confirm understanding what you have been explaining
- Ensure to ask questions and use active listening to make sure that you have not missed any feedback from the
team leader and the new team member.
4.3. You are now to review the quality management plan for quality management. (refer to assessment task 3) and compare
against the performance requirements specified in the Quality Management Plan. Determine the effectiveness of quality-
management processes and procedures and review:
- Improved Quality of Service
- Reduced Operational Costs
- Improved Decision Making and Communication processes
- Meets sustainability requirements
4.4. Consider all requirements collect feedback and address the table below and explain:
- Whether the quality management plan prepared was effective based on the performance requirements?
- List any quality issues experienced in the project.
- Lessons learnt during the project.
- Recommendations for future projects and other areas of improvement.
