What to expect
In this training, we focus on the basics of
drawing and imagery in visual language:
No matter how small or big your talent, you
will take your first visual steps on a flipchart
and learn how to use small details to make
large spaces look clear, attractive, and lively.
You will be working in small groups and both
trainers will take plenty of time to answer
your questions and guide you into the world
of visual language with hints and techniques
suited to fit your individual progress.
• Holding the pen and drawing the line: how
do I draw clean lines and structure my space
on the flip chart?
• Graphics and text containers: how do I
create simple arrows and connecting
elements from basic geometric shapes in
order to present related topics? What text
containers (e.g. speech bubbles) can be used
to support which kinds of messages?
• Objects and symbols: how do I draw simple
symbols to underline messages? What is
essential, what can be left out?
• Color and space: what are simple and fast
options to color elements and spaces in a
quick and simple way that supports the
graphic structure?
• Writing: how do I improve my handwriting
on the flip chart to make it more legible and
attractive?
• Posters and settings: how do I combine the
ingredients (graphics, writing, symbols,
figures, and color) to create to the point
visual translations of content and meaning-
ful posters for different purposes (welcome,
agenda, instructions, group work)?

• you are (still) convinced that you are not at all talented and
still would like to learn how to visualize.
• you have not yet participated in a visual facilitation training
with us or with another supplier.
• you have little experience with visualization so far and are
looking for an easy way to improve your flip charts with good
handwriting, graphics, symbols and simple figures to make
them more clear, attractive, and lively.

Visual facilitation is a (new) method to make information and dialogue visible
in real-time. Be it in presentations, workshops, coaching sessions, trainings
and meetings – whenever people engage in dialogue, are working together
and want to learn from each other in an impactful way.

In our bikablo® visual facilitation trainings, we introduce you to the world of

visual language. Whether as a trainer, coach, facilitator, consultant, manager or
project manager, you will start out working on techniques, visual ingredients
and methods, together with other participants in a small group. Irrespective of
your artistic talent, you will learn visual language that you can use for notes in
small formats as well as for flip charts and pin boards. Our goal: For you to have
fun and learn what you need to get going the next day!

How can I use visual facilitation? Our experience, backed up by educational

science, shows that people work together more effectively, when they can
follow their own process and progress in images and graphics and are able to
visually take in and see the connections between issues. Visual facilitation is
lively, enjoyable and participative learning, exploration, and dialogue. Whoever
works with visual facilitation values contributions from the group, promotes
better understanding, and will achieve emotional, deeply relevant and sustai-
nable results.

The bikablo® technique: Learn to visualize
without previous drawing skills
During 10 years of practical experience, Kommunikations­
lotsen have developed a universally applicable visual
­language that anyone can learn: The bikablo® technique.
Artistic talent is definitely not a prerequisite!
There is a range of products based on the bikablo® brand
which we develop in cooperation with our partner Neuland
GmbH & Co. KG (see below). In the course of our trainings, we
have brought these to hundreds of participants so far.
The basic idea behind the bikablo® technique: Visualization
(by contrast to the fine arts) is an everyday language consisting
of vocabulary and grammar, which can be learnt like any other
language. You learn how to express yourself visually via
writing, symbols, figures, and graphics – and to use this visual
technique as a trainer, coach, manager or facilitator.
