The business process I studied is of about Beverage services and Reservations.

I. Beverages department:

 The above workflow diagram is a simple process of how the drinks are
ordered and served to the people who either wish to sit on the bar or who
wish to order it at their room.

 All the activities are in a chronological order for the smooth working of
the process.

 At first the menu is made available to the customer.

 Then the order is placed through the captain who the forwards it to the
bartender.

 The bartender receives the order and starts preparing the drink.
 The order is ready to serve.

 It is either served on the bar for the person who has wished to sit there or
sent to the room.

2. Drinks Bill

Proposed Information System:


Automation of the kitchen systems should be implemented.
There should be an electronic device through which the guest will place the
order which will directly reflect on the bartender’s desk. This will eliminate the
human errors in taking the orders.
MIS will be a beneficial system to know what the preferences of the guests are.

Advantages:
1. Fast placing of order.
2. Reduction in cycle time.
3. Cost Benefit.
4. Less intermediaries.
5. Less confusion.
Business Process II
Reservation

 In the above , workflow diagram there are three main components :


Customer , system , admin ( front desk staff)
 All the activities are important for a smooth process .
 First the customer will login to the website for booking ( customer can
login through other apps like make my trip , goibibo etc ) , the customer
will inquire about reservation , after systems suggestion the customer
will add check in dates , and other requirement .
 Once , system gives conformation of availability , customer will confirm
booking and select payment mode , system will assign vacant room to
the customer after booking it will redirect to admin or front desk and
give customer details to the hotel staff and will also give a message to
customer.

 Documents generated :
1) New customer sign in
2) Payment mode
3) Payment invoice
4) Customer invoice ( Details of check in , any other requirement )

 All these documents are put as record for future analysis.


 Hotel admin can check peak season , low season , occasional increase in
profit , forecasting etc using these documents .
