II. INTRODUCTION

DepEd Order No. 25, Series of 2016 states that the direction of one’s career
path can be strengthened in the presence of career advocacy program defining
the various jobs which are marketable. This initial activity coupled with
awareness to be well –informed of the existing career opportunities can provide
the guidance needed by young persons in the choice of a career.
The Career Guidance Week celebration is envisioned to prevent too much
waste of resources including time being spent in producing graduates in the
tertiary level as well as in technical vocational education who could not meet
the qualification standards in the labor market. Mismatch between interest or
aptitude and career; career and labor demand, education or training and career
results from uninformed and misguided students.

III. OBJECTIVES

The Career Guidance Week celebration anchored with the following


objectives:

1. Acquire information on discovering one’s strength s and developing


awareness

2. Develop awareness and appreciation of their needs, interest, aptitudes and


inclinations

3. Experience careers they are aiming at, matching their interest possible career in a
given array of choice

4. Identifying a career fitted to one’s interest

NARRATIVE REPORT IN

CAREER GUIDANCE PROGRAM 2016-2017

I. Introduction

DepEd Order No. 25, Series of 2016 states that the direction of one’s career path
can be strengthened in the presence of career advocacy program defining the various jobs
which are marketable. This initial activity coupled with awareness to be well –informed
of the existing career opportunities can provide the guidance needed by young persons in
the choice of a career.
The Career Guidance Week celebration is envisioned to prevent too much waste
of resources including time being spent in producing graduates in the tertiary level as
well as in technical vocational education who could not meet the qualification standards
in the labor market. Mismatch between interest or aptitude and career; career and labor
demand, education or training and career results from uninformed and misguided
students.
Talus National High School conducted the Career Guidance Week 2016. It was a
5 day –Career Guidance Activity. It was started on October 17, 2016 to October 21,
2016. The proponents or persons involved in the activity were the following; the
students from Grade 7 to Grade 11, principal, teachers, parents, PTA officers and other
stakeholders of the said school.
II. Objectives
It aims to Acquire information on discovering one’s strengths and developing
awareness, develop awareness and appreciation of their needs, interest, aptitudes and
inclinations, experience careers they are aiming at, matching their interest possible career
in a given array of choice, identifying a career fitted to one’s interest.

III. Accomplishment

The students, parents, principal and teachers participated actively during the conduct
of Career Guidance Week.

IV. Problem Encountered
There was problem encountered during the conduct of the said program ;

1. There was a limited time to plan for the conduct of the said activity due to
late dissemination of information.
2. Some students did not wear their career outfit due to limited time to find it.

V. Recommendations

1. The Department of Education should disseminate information about the conduct


of Career Guidance Program early as first quarter to have an ample time to plan
and prepare effectively and efficiently.

2. The teachers and students from grade 7 to grade 11 as well the parents are
encourage to participate actively in any school activities for the school and
students’ welfare and development.
