Sexual harassment is a systematic problem that has existed in educational

institutions and workplaces for ages now. It still persists to this day because of a lack of

support and understanding from the victim’s surrounding environment. This environment

includes the school administrations, friends and family, faculty, media and support

groups. It has devastating effects on the financial aspect of the economy and more

importantly, the mental and emotional state of the victims. This year, students from

different educational institutions began to share their experiences in social media which

later on trended and came to news. Students from my highschool alma mater also

participated and I was concerned because some of them are my friends and within the

circle. I helped them in spreading awareness and look for immediate response from the

school and also from the government to punish and penalize the assailants.
