Cover Letter

Dear Reader,

I have almost completed my summer work for AP English Literature, and I am so excited

to begin the class and continue this type of thinking. In my assignment, I think that the main

points were found through the five keywords that I highlighted in my mind map: Guilt,

Accountability, Comparison, Criticism, and Personal Connection. These words all showed up in

each of the reading samples as well as in Frankenstein. I got these ideas by reading through all of

the readings and pinpointing the quotes and ideas that struck out to me the most. I chose, in my

mind map, to highlight these keywords and make it clear that they were my main ideas by

making them different colors and in full capitalization. Most of these assignments went very well

for me; I felt like I understood the readings and it was helpful to complete the worksheets as

well. However, the Paulo Freire readings were a bit difficult for me, but as I read on it became

easier to understand his diction. There weren't any surprises for me in the work aspect of the

assignment, but I was surprised throughout the duration of Frankenstein because I never knew

what would happen next. If I had any questions for Dr. Holt as a reader, I would probably ask her

how she prefers to annotate texts, and if she makes mental mind maps in her head whenever she

reads a text. I would also ask her how she likes to organize her thoughts in her commonplace

book, if she does organize them in any way.

Sincerely,

Emily Ruediger
