Statement of the Problem

The main purpose of the study is to compare the challenges, coping mechanism and

academic performance among elementary and secondary education students in the new

normal. This specifically seeks to answer the following questions.

1. What is the profile of the respondents in terms of:

1.1 Age;

1.2 Gender;

1.3 year level; and

1.4 curriculum?

2. What is the extent of challenge faced by the respondents in terms of:

2.1 lack of equipment;

2.2 financial problem;

2.3 low connection;

2.4 adaptability struggle;

2.5 time management;

2.6 distraction;

2.7 lack of in-person interaction;

2.8 misunderstanding efforts involve;

2.9 low encouragement to do the task; and

2.10 diminished social aspects?

3. What is the extent of coping mechanism among the respondents?


4. Is there a significant relationship between the extent of challenge and the extent of

coping mechanism?

5. Is there a significant difference between the extent of challenge among two groups?

6. Is there a significant difference between coping mechanism among two groups?

7. Based on findings, what program can be proposed?
