• Demonstrates the reaction of acids and bases

c) With various indicators
• Understands about naturally occurring acids
• Properties of important chemical compounds used in daily life

• Applies the knowledge in daily life
• Demonstrate various activities
SKILL• Predicts the products of various reactions
• Draws labelled diagram of acids and bases
 • Predicts the nature of salts by distinguishing the acids and bases from which it is formed
 LEARNING KNOWLEDGE- Students would be able to
OUTCOME 1. compare chemical properties of acids and bases, write equations and give illustration
2. analyse and compare pH of given solutions and find chemical nature of given solution
3. appreciate the importance of pH in daily life and apply neutralization/ pH to solve problems in day-to-day life.
4. identify strong and weak acids and bases
5. describe preparation of different salts and suggest their uses in day-to-day life.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES - Students would be able to
1. Express the chemical properties through equations and illustration develop critical thinking and collaboration in the
process.
2. Built character amongst themselves by discussing /communicating and applying neutralization/ pH to solve problems
in day-to-day life.
3. Develop the ability to analyse and compare pH of given solutions.
4. Carry out practical in lab, develop character and collaboration in the process.
5. Prepare cluster web for the preparation, properties and uses of salts creatively

CONCEPT Introduction to indicators

DEVELOPMENT OF Students’ responses will be listed on the blackboard by using the KWL chart DOL 1, 2, 3 Discussion of topic through
CONCEPT Collaborative Learning: 15 min (Critical Thinking and Problem Solving) Think, pair share Students in pairs will name
some indicators and classify them as natural and synthetic.
 Students in group of 5 students each will carry out activity 2.1and 2.2
 Teacher will discuss with the students and introduce the term Olfactory indicators.
 Students’ teacher interaction on the topic Teacher will ask questions based on activities Guided practice: 10 min

SYNTHESIS  Students will record their observation and draw out the conclusion for the same. I
 Independent Practice: NCERT Questions Closure: 5 min Involving students in summarizing by asking them to prepare
questions based on the topic.
