University and Guidance Counsellor Announcement

Dear Gr. 11-12 Students:

If you are receiving this email, you have enjoyed the pleasure of working with Mr. (Aaron) Lee
as your Guidance and University counsellor at Ridley College. It also means that you will be
joining me in bidding farewell to him and his family this June as they embark on a new chapter
in their lives next school year. Mr. Lee and his wife have both taken positions at independent
schools on Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada. As we wish them both farewell and
best wishes, we will certainly miss Mr. Lee at Ridley.

Mr. Lee has been an integral piece to our guidance team since he arrived in September 2019.
His professionalism, attention to detail, kind-nature and open-door policy made him an
incredible counsellor and educator. He approaches his job with passion and care for students,
with the ultimate goal of helping them find their “best fit” for life after graduation. I know that
he has cultivated many great relationships in his two years at Ridley, many that will last a
lifetime. Please join me in celebrating Mr. Lee’s time at Ridley while also wishing him all the
best moving forward.

The good news is that he will remain with us until the end of this school year, continuing to
help students and families plan for next year. Mr. Lee will have access to his email until July
15th. This will allow time for IB results to be released and for Mr. Lee to support the graduating
class of 2021 if they have any questions or concerns. After July 15th, Mr. Lee’s emails will be
forwarded to Mr. Bill Mitchell. If you have any questions or concerns after July 15th, please
email Mr. Mitchell directly at bill_mitchell@ridleycollege.com

I also wanted to announce that we have hired a new Guidance and University Counsellor for the
2021/22 school year. The new counsellor joins us with great experience and credentials and
will certainly be a welcome addition to the guidance department and Ridley family. This
counsellor has already started to work with the Mr. Lee and the Ridley guidance team as part of
the transition process. Further communication and a formal introduction will occur at a later
date. If you have any questions or concerns, please do let me know.
