Do They Get Married?

In the final episode of The Seven Deadly Sins, Elizabeth gets married to Meliodas.

However, this isn’t to say that their relationship was all smooth sailing. It couldn’t be any
further from the truth.

Here’s how it goes down.

How’s Their Relationship? What is the curse?

To look at Meliodas and Elizabeth’s relationship, we’ll need to take a journey to 3000 in the
past.

Elizabeth is the highest-ranked member of the goddess clan and is the daughter of the
Supreme Deity.

She is also, in fact, the original incarnation of Elizabeth Liones and Meliodas’ lover from 3000
years ago.

Meliodas, on the other hand, is the Demon King’s eldest son and highest-ranking member in
the demon clan.

Meliodas ended up falling in love with Elizabeth from the opposing clan. He ended up
betraying his clan and killing two of the Ten Commandments.

This deeply angered the demon king and the demon clan.

On the other side, Ludociel, the leader of the Archangels, blinded by his bloodthirst for the
demon clan, took this opportunity to start a war. The Holy War.

Even though the two didn’t want this to happen, the Supreme Deity and The Demon King
punished both for starting this war and betraying their clans.
The Demon King cursed Elizabeth to reincarnate as a human, and when every time she dies,
she reincarnates but without any of her memories.

If she remembers any memories from her past life, she will die in another three days.

And the saddest part is that every time she dies, it will be in front of Meliodas.

The Supreme Deity cursed Meliodas to become immortal. This may seem like a boon at first,
but there is a catch.

Every time Meliodas dies, he loses his emotions to his father, the Demon King.

These emotions are then imprisoned in Purgatory, and his emotionless self will become more
controllable by his father.

Meliodas has already seen Elizabeth die 106 times. Elizabeth Liones is the 107th incarnation
of Elizabeth, the goddess.

What are the Effects of the Curse?

As mentioned above, whenever Elizabeth dies, she loses all her memories. This forces her
and Meliodas’ relationship to restart every single time.

On the other hand, the curse has a significant effect on Meliodas.

Whenever he loses a few of his emotions, Meliodas undergoes a massive change. His
personality changes drastically whenever he uses the black mark, and he becomes more
ruthless and even sadistic.

During his fight with Fraudrin, Meliodas sadistically toys around with his enemy, leading him to
falsely believe that he may have a chance at winning the fight.

He then revels in his rival’s pain and despair upon finding out that he would never win.

Do they Break the Curse?

The only way to break the curse is by finding someone who can rival the power of the Demon
King and the Supreme Deity themselves.

During the Holy War, Meliodas found a way to break both curses after escaping from
Purgatory.

After the Demon King was dispelled from his body, Meliodas finally broke both curses, setting
themselves free.

Due to the awakening of his power, Meliodas became the new Demon King and could no
longer remain in the Mortal Plane due to his extreme levels of power.

Meliodas then surprises us all by giving up his power to cancel out the ten commandments to
ensure his father never returns.

Thus, Meliodas once again returns to Britannia.

How Do They Get Married?
After the threat of the demon king and Cath had died down, Meliodas and Elizabeth planned
and got married to each other.

Soon they took up Bartra’s offer and became the kingdom’s new rulers.

The two were always meant to be a couple. Their love for each other has even survived
through Elizabeth’s countless reincarnations. So what could beat love that transcends even
the bounds of time?

When Do We See Their Child?

Meliodas and Elizabeth end up having a child who’s name is Tristan. He makes a short
appearance in the finale of the series.

He’s an extraordinarily wild and energetic kid. Just like most are at the age. He’s got a strong
sense of justice and longs to protect his kingdom, including his father and the other sins,
especially after finding out about how they were framed.

He says that he doesn’t want to become the next ruler. Instead, he’ll become one of the seven
deadly sins.
