1) Description of problem
After repairing of the Service Air Compressor (A), high temperature of the secon
d stage discharge still observed which is closely monitored. Root cause is still u
nidentified even with the presence of Hanshin TA.
In connection, December 2020, Service Air Compressor (A) was first repaired aft
er it was severely damage last June 2020; wearing of internal parts of blow off/
blow down valve was possible cause and damaged the second stage element.
In June 2020, Service air compressor (A) was first damaged; known reason behi
nd was the maintaining of the negative pressure (-350~-500mbar) of the second
stage suction with a limit of -900 mbar (tripping point) and above. As to its limit
s, the equipment its self cannot give alarm/warning if it reaches below and abov
e its maintaining parameters.
In relevant with the repair in December 2020 (please see attached for the parts
being replaced), after 2 weeks since it was commissioned Service Air Compress
or (A) tripped and damaged. With the same situation in June 2020 and the sam
e failure analysis by TA.
In conclusion, TVI did what was in the Hanshin Manual in regards with its preve
ntive servicing. TVI believes that the problem was in the equipment itself.
