- Narcissism is seductive. There are 3Cs in Narcissism (charm, charisma, and

confidence) Durvasula, R. (2019).

- It is a world lot like love. We use it, we talk about it, we don’t really know what it
means, and we never know if the person we are talking to has the same
definition in mind that we do. It has a strange history in Greek and Roman
Mythology.

According to Dr. W. Keith Campbell, narcissism is a word that is extremely similar to
love. We make use of it, we discuss regarding it, we cannot certainly tell its definition,
and we never know if the person we are chatting to has a similar explanation in mind
that we do. Just like how we thought that Narcissism is just being overly in love with
oneself. We once heard about a story in Greek and Roman Mythology about Narcissus
who is a young man who fell in love with his reflection. This is a strange history where
we got a lot of misconceptions about Narcissists that we eventually started stereotyping
these individuals which needs to be discussed thoroughly.
Contrary to what the majority of us know, not all narcissists are extroverts with a
lot of self-confidence. Not everyone feels highly of themselves. Mind you that there are
various forms of narcissism that are kind of confusing. Let us talk about the most
popular one which is grandiose narcissism, this is a characteristic which most politicians
or leaders possess as they are compelling, outgoing, have a great sense of entitlement,
and sees oneself as superior. In addition, some grandiose narcissists also use their high
level of confidence to achieve their goals in life. Vulnerable narcissism, on the other
hand, is the complete opposite of grandiose narcissism and is also less commonly
known. Individuals who exhibit this kind of personality can hardly be seen as they are
difficult to distinguish, some tend to stay at home and chose to not interact with the
outside world. They do have an equal sense of entitlement but are pretty shy and
covert. Their self-esteem is relatively low, they do feel anxious at times, and they seek
attention through their social media sites which only require virtual communication. A
narcissist can also be classified as somatic or being body-oriented, cerebral or
personality-oriented narcissist, also seductive narcissist which tend to compliment and
admire people close to them in order to get a similar reaction from them, and the last
one which is vindictive narcissism which is considered the most dangerous one as they
destroy other people’s lives.
As you see, narcissism does not only come in one form. There are distinct forms
of it which should be given attention to avoid fallacies from people. When you say
narcissism, the typical definition shall be constructed into something more
comprehensive and expound. Not all narcissists like hurting other people or are evil. Not
all narcissists are vocal to their feelings nor they are easily spotted. Lastly, THEY ARE
ALL NOT THE SAME.
