About Your Business

Catfish farming industry is still in its infancy in Nigeria, with the commodity very expensive
because it is insufficient to go round. This, in turn, makes the fish unaffordable by the
common man. Having considered this, C2 Construction and Farms (C2F) desire venturing
into commercial Catfish farming to meet the demand in the community and also
contribute towards narrowing down-supply gap deficit in Nigeria as well as supply of
proteins and micro nutrients for feeding the teeming population in Anambra state, south
east and Nigeria at large.
C2 Construction and Farms (C2F) will be providing healthy table size fish first at six months
and monthly subsequently at affordable price. Our mission is to provide protein to the
populace, fight malnutrition, create employment opportunities for others, and help save
some foreign exchange for Nigeria. C2 is registered with CAC, and will be located at
Awka Anambra State.

Features & Functionalities

C2 will be providing table size, healthy fish of high nutritional value, and rich in Omega 3
oil. Our processed fish will be Oven fresh and well packaged. This will help in promoting
healthy lives and well-being of people of all ages by supplying those with proteins and
micro nutrients. It will also create markets for customers (Restaurant, Hotels). We will stock
our pond every month in order not to run out sale thereby closing the demand-supply
gap deficit in our targeted area. Our current location is motor able, highly accessible,
and convenient with enough parking space.

C2 will hinged on preparing site, acquiring mobile ponds, fertilize the ponds within 2
weeks, buy 1000 fingerlings for each of the ponds, feed them daily till maturity at 6 months
sale off as point-and-kill or as dried fish or both. C2 will make use of 2-3 labourers and will
go into hatching over time

The average price of my product is $2.182 and N895 in local currency. CBN USD rate =
410 /Naira

Profitability

In the start-up year, with 4000 fingerlings in stock and annual projected sales of 3800
adult fish in two production cycle, we would make $8292 with estimated expenses of
$6633 at 20% profit margin. This implies the project is very much feasible, viable and
very much profitable and worth investing.

The size of the market is as huge as the population of Nigeria (210 million) because
everybody eats catfish but considering the working population 48.6%, Total Addressable
Market in Nigeria worth $180 million.

C2 intends to maintain an extensive marketing campaign that will ensure maximum
visibility for its business in its targeted market.

We intend developing relationship with major groceries and fish/seafood wholesalers

that will acquire bulk inventories from us and polish ongoing purchase order relationship
with cooperatives throughout the target market.

Distribution Channels:

Our distribution channel shall be retail, wholesale, agents and independent

representatives who might want some commission are also welcome. We would make
arrangements for customers to contact the sales representative to place order with
effective logistics.

Promotion

Advertising: phone calls, short text messages, posters, handbills and online/social
media.

C2 need TEF grant $5000 to allocate to its start-up. The farm house would be built to
accommodate two (2) ponds for start, Borehole as the source of water, a drainage
system for disposal of changed water from the pond, a cool room system to serve as store
for the fish sales, Light to the farm and a 14KV generator as stand by power due to the
high need of light by fish farm. The team would manage the farm but would make use of
few labourers. Required start-up cost $4,787 is needed.

Building a Team
Chibueze C. Ofojeke is the owner and has Higher National Diploma in Surveying and
Geo-informatics. He did his NYSC in 2016 and also gained 3 years’ experience as
surveyor and have extensive training on Fishery (Growing, production and sales). He is
working as agent in Custodian Life Assurance Port-Harcourt. The management will
consist of Operations and administrations.

Business Forecasting and Planning
C2 is a newly established company at development stage registered to meet the high
demand for fish within and outside Southern Nigeria. C2 will install facilities and start
operation immediately following funding. C2 has completed detailed financial,
operational and business start-up planning. Have designed the Logos and brands.

Sales Forecast:

Except for 10% mortality, which is provided for in any animal husbandry outfit, we
forecast 95% sales of our output. We therefore predict an annual growth rate of 45%.

What are the next steps for your business?

Financial: C2 will attain 0ver $10000 as profit and $17434 in revenue by next 3 years

Operational: Among our future plans is to construct more 8 ponds to expand our
production to10,000 fingerlings and also to purchase hauler trucks (Cold room Vehicle)
to facilitate the selling of our fish as we intend to dominate the whole of South- Eastern
States.

Customer focused: We intend to dominate the whole of South- Eastern States with our
efficient and effective logistic.

Capability-building: Fish farming is Labour intensive and we will build our staff to be able
to execute their work excellently. We will also hire staff skilled in accounting, human
resources etc.
