The Junior High School Interactive Learning Module is based on the K-12 Curriculum Guide and
on inquiry-based approach. It delivers a personalized teaching and learning instruction under the tenets of
blended learning. The teaching faculty of Mary’s Child Science Oriented School regards this module as a
written form of their commitment in giving quality education through creative and challenging learning
tasks. Such commitment is reflected in this module as one of the varied learning avenues in this new normal
education.
The JHS Interactive Learning Module contains the following features:
Overview. This part presents an introduction of the concepts to be learned in the
lesson. It may also include focus questions you need to discover as you progress in
the lesson.
Learning Targets. This part is a list of your learning goals that you are expected to
achieve by the end of the lesson.
Points to Remember. This part covers a summary of the key concepts in the lesson
that you need in order for you to remember the important points and to actively
accomplish each task.

Explore. This part contains a motivating activity that engages you with the lesson
and prepares you in the context of the lesson.
Firm Up. This part includes varied and coherent activities that work hand in hand
with the lesson proper and lead to an in-depth understanding of the concepts and
skills which is needed as you make meaning and transfer the gained lessons and skills
into action.

Deepen. This part allows you to make meaning and connections of what you have
learned through activities patterned to real-life scenarios and other meaningful and
relevant concepts.

Transfer. This part assesses your understanding and your capability in doing the
transfer task. A rubric with a scoring guide is included in this assessment.
Self-assessment. This part assists you in reflecting about your own learning.
The achievement of each learning competency depends on your eagerness to learn from the
meaningful and authentic learning experiences provided. The JHS Interactive Learning Module is a
learner-centered material that is parallel to the enriched curriculum of Mary’s Child Science Oriented School.
In addition, the design and approach of the module is student-friendly that a Marian can accomplish
independently or with minimal supervision accompanied by other supplemental activities and learning
materials.
