NARRATIVE REPORT oN EARTHQUAKE drill

Earthquake is one of the most disastrous natural phenomenon that cause distraction of
properties and even death to people. It cannot be detected when and where it would happen.
Anyone can experience this disaster caused by the constant movements of earth’s crustal
plates and climate change.
Connectively, the Mangcawayan Primary School participated in the simultaneous
nation-wide earthquake drill last March 11, 2021 at 2:00 pm. This was also affirmed by the
virtue of the DepEd Order No. 71, Series of 2014. The Drill started with an orientation thru
webinar on facebook live participated by the teachers in the school. Parents were also
informed about the conduct of the simultaneous earthquake drill and practiced the drill at home.
After the webinar, the teachers simultaneously conducted the earthquake drill through
duck, cover and hold. Then, all teachers formed their line and went outside the exit door and
held their ground in an open area where in no debris can fall down. Finally, the DRRM
coordinator started counting the teachers to know if there is someone missing. The earthquake
drill ended safely.
Conducting an Earthquake drill is very important in the school community to educate
the pupils as well as the teachers about the safety measures during a disaster and makes
them ready for a real earthquake.

Earthquake is the sudden movement of Earth’s crust at a fault line. It is one of the most
disastrous natural phenomenons that cause distraction of properties and even death to people.
It cannot be detected when and where it would happen.
In connection, the Mangcawayan Primary School participated in the 2nd Quarter
Simultaneous Nationwide Earthquake Drill last June 10, 2021 at 9:00 o’clock in the morning .
This was also affirmed by the virtue of the DepEd Order No. 71, Series of 2014. The Drill
started with an orientation thru webinar on facebook live participated by the teachers in the
school. Parents were also informed about the conduct of the simultaneous earthquake drill
and practiced the drill at home with their family.
